That's my opinion as well about the game (which I couldn't finish), even when it opens up it never stops feeling and playing like a low-budget mimicry of an already popamole tripeA production. The atmosphere itself is decent-ish though, and I imagine the chronic lack of titles based on the Terminator franchise coupled with the absence of technical issues/predatory schemes softened the general consensus.

Sadly, I just really disliked the watered-down structure and distinctly consolish mechanics to the point that I genuinely couldn't find any redeeming feature besides the authentic-ish ambience. As someone who loves Terminator 1 and 2 (the only ones that exist in my book ) I appreciated the humble attempt, but that's about it. Still a massive improvement over the hilariously appalling Rambo which felt like a parody game engineered by drunk capybaras.
Wont argue with that, yet for me it was a decent time waster. In this day and age of early access, MOBAs, BRs, asset flips and so on I enjoy the occasional "all cards one the table" singleplayer FPS with a story, relatively bug free and gives me that feeling there still are games like this. Well, that was the thing for me.
As for the movie franchise, its gone downhill. At least for us born in the 80s that remember the first movies. Then again kids now watching the first movies will be like "WTF was the fuss about"
