There is single controller mode. |
Is there? Hmm..perhaps I should give it a go then!

That would probably be next to impossible to do when. I think its easier to make a non-Vr
game to work in VR than the other way around.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Oh well just a thought....be nice though!! Maybe Valve has something already in that mode to release later!!! LOL
On that note, though, how do you feel in the knowledge that one of the first things people are going to try and do with Alyx is mod it to work in 2D, and make a non-VR version?
Robin Walker: I so want them to do that! I'm so excited to see that! There are a lot of people on the team who have asked this question many times. It's going to happen, and I can't wait. To some extent, everything we just described is about what does VR as a platform and experience bring to the table? And if that is not significant, then it's not interesting? We believe it's significant and interesting. And there's no better way than to play this game in non VR, I think, than to experience that. Of course, a bunch of people on the team probably will be super unhappy with me because they're worried about this. But we can't stop them. I think it would be a lot of work.

Wow, City 17 is great in "photorealistic" (not really, of course) VR. I just met Russel, so I can't say anything about the gameplay yet as I have done nothing but check out every nook and cranny of the intro environments for 1 hour, but the presentation feels like "HL2 in real life".

I've only played this for 10 Minutes now and I can say, these are the best VR environments I've ever experienced. You can really see, they made it specifically for VR.
Also, it looks awesome on the O+ and the controllers seem to work ok so far.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I'm now at a point where there is some graffiti lore that that sums up the events of HL1 and more... and there's a puzzle there to open a gate of sorts... but I have no idea which switches to push? I don't get what I am supposed to do in this puzzle at all

Quote: | You’d be forgiven for thinking Half-Life: Alyx isn’t a proper Half-Life game. This is a prequel for one thing, exclusive to VR – surely its place in the story and its limited audience mean this is something you can skip over. It is not. Alyx isn’t only an essential experience, it’s a key piece of the Half-Life story. If you can’t play it, you should at the very least watch the excellent ending on YouTube so you’re ready for the inevitable Half-Life 3. |

Spoiler: | I looked at the graffiti and picked the combo that was close to Freeman at the center. That worked, but to me it seems off, like I didn't fully understand it this puzzle and you mention something about cardboard pieces? Oh well.. |
