Just stumbled on this video, don't care much about Halo, but did play 1 & 2 on PC...
Seems like Gearbox royally screwed up the PC port of Combat Evolved (mostly graphical effects missing and also some AI fuck-ups) and that's apparently the basis of the version in the Master Chief Collection...
no suprize ... people who pay for all this remastered shit ... u got it coming a long time ago, low effort milking , get low effort cashgrab games, nobody who works on these remasters probably even played the originals ... just outsourced slave crunch labor , happy to get the shit out of the door and move to the next slave master who likes sexual 'magic tricks'
halo always was this second class crappy console shooter ... they didnt stand a chance on pc with quake unreal and halflife out there , only the console derps saved their couch controller asses, the fact bungie signed off on the pc port releasing that way, just shows what heads up their asses god complex money hungry twats bungie really are, they had one xbox hit, rest was just copy pasta milking for two decades rofl
i remember when halo was first covered in magazines in like 1999-2000, the bullshit they was promising, terrain that would change with impacts of rockets, vehicles, and then xbox bought them and all those promises and teasers evaporated rofl cause consoles couldnt do jack shit back then
Wrong. The remaster mode does not have any issues. This is where the effort has gone, with all new models, textures, materials, shaders, lighting, animation (maybe). Not a cheap cash in at all, they remade everything from scratch.
It's the original graphics mode that carries the issues of the previous release because that wasn't the game's selling point, so that's not where the budget went.
You also have to realize the porting team probably didn't even know the version they were porting from had issues. That's what they were given to work with, and the assumption would be that it is working as it should.
BTW, the XB1 (MCC) port fixed some stuff compared to the 360 release:

The $1 thing isn't going to last forever
It doesn't really matter if you later on decide to buy the game again you retain everything be it on win10 or steam since it's cross-play and cross-progression so you don't lose anything in any case.
