Yes. I think most transgender people, who want to live their normal lives, suffer from all the identity politics. I'll give a strange analogy, but I think it's apt. In many regards, they are like normal muslim people who want to live a normal life. But as long as the "normals" don't denounce the crazies and take control of what "normal" means, the crazies are setting the agenda, and it's making people who otherwise wouldn't care, be anti.
Its a conundrum, really. The normals, even if they speak are not heard because the media and our own attention prefer to turn to the crazies. The more exotic you are, the louder you cry, the more attention you get. Obviously, the normals cannot compete, at least not on social media.

Instead, if I go by my everyday life, I'm not affected in the slightest. What affects me are other political decisions my country makes, the evolution of housing prices, interest rates, environmental changes, taxes etc.

Nah, I still know folks who visit resetera daily and according to them the "game x" threads are mostly still populated by normies. In the end resetera is as much a full blown progressive forum as, say, kiwifarms is a conservative/neo nazi forum.

I've seen this argument made about twitter as well, but I think it's a bit shortsighted. What is buzzing on the internet will eventually bubble to "real world" politics. We already see this in countries where there are less social issues, like Canada, for example. But since we are not putting checks into these systems (and I don't mean disallowing speech), it creeps into esoteric academia first—and because the entry requirements into those fields is lower, more and more people go into this unchecked system—and at the end, bad ideas are propagating at the national level, with calls to block speech from people with dissenting opinions.
@LeoNatan You may be right, I haven't been in close contact with academia for like 10 years, and then only in philosophy. And the places I know don't seem to be "infected". What I see is that people have way lower standards for academia papers etc. overall. And that alarms me more. Maybe both issues go hand in hand.

I think quite a few people, even those using the terms confuse: Sex, Gender, Personality, And who they are sexually attracted to..as if they are all interchangeable.
Your personality is not a gender, who you are attracted to is not a personality, and how masculine/feminine you are by 'general accepted standards' is not a sex nor gender..that's a personality and persona.
