I've tried this new version (While keeping the CCCP one installed) and after comparing and reconfiguring... It still needs some work, atleast for my needs (And no, this thime it's not about the skin size for the bottom buttons)
-In CCCP, if i uncheck "Fast Seek" from Tweaks, i click and hold and drag the mouse over the timeline (STILL HOLDING) and, as i slowly move forward (precision reasons) , the video jumps automaticly as the mouse slowdowns between the most tiny fragments.. Wich's good
HOWEVER, in the 1.8.7 version, if i do the same, it takes LONGER for the player to catch new shown footage, only showing where i am dragging at if i go beyond an "invisible limit" or if i release the mouse
(Yes, it's complicated to explain..)
-It's funny how my actual CCCP player, if i get a movie from certain site and get the subs from the same page, extract the SRT from it and put it in the same folder the movie is at, whenever i open the movie then drag n drop (or file->Load subs) the subs into the movie, THE PLAYER CRASHES yet the window is still there, just with the program's logo
In the newest version this doesn't happens and loads the subs perfectly (Had to adjust it so they always appear at the bottom-center , typical placement.. What i have to do is change the font later on to Arial like my actual player because... The "default" one is greyed out and perhaps a bit hard to read
Not sure what the first issue has the "If it's not broken don't try to fix it" part.. Ya know what i mean.
Again, i am keeping both players, with the CCCP one as the main and the 1.8.7 one for just movies wich subs wouldn't load at all
NOTE: The 1st issue, the mouse dragging, has the same "values" of "short medium long" or whatever in both apps, so i don't know where's the frigging problem located at...
Ofcourse thanks for sharing, helped me a lot in a part

MPC-HC v1.9.0 Released!!
Quote: |
Changelog 1.8.8 to 1.9.0:
* Updated LAV Filters to v0.74.1-31-ge94f9
+ Added a dark theme option for the GUI. You can enable it through: Menu > View > Dark theme
+ The dark theme also has a more modern looking seekbar. You can adjust seekbar height in: Options > Advanced
+ Added option for vertical alignment of the video. This for example allows you to have a black bar only below the video.
+ Added support for playing contents of uncompressed RAR5 archives. Previously only RAR4 was supported.
+ Added manual search functionality to the subtitle download results window.
+ Improved positioning of PGS subtitles
+ Some optimizations for subtitle texture size. This should improve performance on systems with multiple screens. And also reduce GPU memory usage.
+ Added column sorting and a search/filter option to the keybindings options page.
+ The supported languages of the OpenSubtitles/SubDB subtitle providers are now hardcoded, so the player no longer needs to connect to the Internet each time the subtitle options page is viewed.
+ Reloading a stream with CTRL+E will now call youtube-dl again to get a fresh URL.
+ Added basic support for MPC Video Renderer (https://github.com/Aleksoid1978/VideoRenderer). What currently works with this new renderer is: Hardware decoding, Subtitles, and Pan&Scan. What not yet works is: OSD, Rotation, and Shaders. That will be added in a future update.
! Fix: Crash when detaching a (cloned) monitor during playback.
! Fix: D3D exclusive not working anymore when transitioning to fullscreen a second time.
! Fix: Restored window size was sometimes wrong due to DPI settings
! Workaround for Intel driver bug where Brightness and Hue values of -100 are unsupported. |

They've removed the skins from the official site ><;;. Where can i get those very same old skins to use on the newest 1.9 version?
And no, pressing on Help->Download toolbar images/skins sends me to the 1.7 version of MPC-HC, wich link's to the custom toolbars redirects to the page itself...Google's not helping either, only a previewless sourceforge site

Well, i didnt knew this, since i didnt use an own toolbar for a while, but they changed the arguments...
How to use Toolbars in mpc hc 1.9 and up:

Grayscale toolbar :
Dark theme Disabled : "toolbar.PNG"
Dark theme Enabled : "toolbar_dark.PNG"
Colorful toolbar :

in the mean Time, while im searching, there are also Toolbars on DeviantArt... (this one i use, just in Blue)

Thanks for this ^^. I've been helping a tad bit with the project in GitHub and they moved a couple of things for the final project
1. Update the toolbar link from Help->Get new toolbar blablabla to show a proper website (Previous original one, again, died)
2. Make the seek bar insta-search/frameskip when dragging the timeline box around, for precise searchings (100ms)
I tested the 2nd with a tiny patch they brought up and it works. Now waiting for the new release to FINALLY kick CCCP away and keep this one!

For Smartphon Android i use VLC... With a minor bug about "Whenever you resume from one point of a video (mainly) and reach the end of it, while having the "Repeat forever" option on, the video would rewind to the point where you resumed last time", ending in an eternal loop for that video.
Uninstalling won't help. I think you had to reset the settings in the app but that's a bummer they didn't seemed to fix yet.
If somebody knows the "GitHub" of the official VLC for ANDROID, put me a link so i can slap some sense into them...Besides of adding, for VLC PC (tried it ONCE) the function to "Be able to do 1 frame backwards" (CTRL+LEFT) , since there's only "CTRL + RIGHT" and nobody gave a fuck about it
For PC i use MPC-HC 1.9.2 (Finally, screw CCCP) with a GitHub patch from the actual developers, to allow instant fastseeking of 100ms around when searching at the timeline with the mouse (Just like CCCP did, only with this newer one... Hey, atleast they listened to me for once)

looks good so far, the timings are good and well below the point where you could get problems with dropped frames, so thats good..
Any reason why you have "smooth Motion" OFF?
Since it looks like you have more resources left you could try different chroma scalers, like "NGU Antialiasing" instead of "Jinc AR".
NGU should and probably is, allways better and higher in Quality..
NGU stands for "Next Generation Upscaling".
What about Dithering? is it on? wich setting?
Do you have "Artefact Removal" on? like Debanding?
Like i sayd, Performance wise this looks very good judging by the OSD.
Also, if you want SOME MORE INFO, just create "2" EMPTY Folders in the MadVR Root Folder:
ShowHdrMode
ShowRenderSteps
With those 2 Folders created, you will get better and more Info about the render steps (chroma, upscaler, etc) better Infos about HDR with the ShowHdrMode.
You really got a 12bit display?

using this one here for Android OS:
mpv for Android.

mpv-android is a video player for Android based on libmpv.
Features
Hardware and software video decoding
Gesture-based seeking and volume/brightness control
libass support for styled subtitles
Advanced video settings (interpolation, debanding, scalers, ...)
Play network streams with the "Open URL" function
Background playback, keyboard input supported
|
mpv is pretty good and teh best you can have on Linux as far as i know and since Android kinda is an Linux based thing mpv should also have teh best Quality on Android.. At least thats what i think and see when testing it.. Of course you have to configure it first, but you also have advanced settings like you have with the WIN/Linux mpv version.
Like interpolation, debanding, scalers, etc.. just like with the real MPV.
Download here:
https://github.com/mpv-android/mpv-android/releases
or more infos here:
https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/is.xyz.mpv
and here is a full fledged Guide for mpv...

MPC-HC v1.9.4
About
Development of the original MPC-HC project has ended. The few other developers that were involved have all lost interest.
But don't worry, MPC-HC is still very much alive!
My repository is a fork of the original MPC-HC project. There development will continue.
I have been involved in MPC development for almost 15 years, even before MPC-HC existed, so consider my builds as the new 'official' releases.
Development state
MPC-HC does not have many active developers right now. So don't expect much new functionality or other big changes. The player already is mature and provides all functionality that most people need. MPC-HC is open source, so anyone who is interested can contribute fixes and improvements. You can submit patches to me, and when I think your change is useful, I will gladly include it in a future build.
Several people have already contributed improvements, fixes, and even new functionality.
Very short summary of changes:
- Added dark theme
- Includes latest LAV Filters
- Added support for new codecs such as AOMedia AV1
- Added support for youtube-dl
- Added support for MPC Video Renderer
- Added A-B Repeat
- Subtitle performance improvements
- Lots of other useful improvements and additions in functionality
- Lots of bug fixes
Read the changelog for a detailed list.
I will not actively work on new features. So please don't post any feature requests in this topic.
