But every AI is scripted. These are the two mechanisms that exist in all games. Behaviour trees, which most games use and lesser used, Goal Oriented Action Planning which FEAR 1 invented, which you claim is not smart. Thats it.
Some advanced AI that makes unpredictable reactions doesnt exist. Nor would it be good gamedesign. There needs to be a pattern for the AI that the player can observe and then make decisions based on that. You could never stealth pass an enemy if AI would work like you want cause you could never make any plans of attack. You could never defeat a single enemy in Dark Souls cause every time you die he would do something else. Thats just frustration to the max devoid of any entertainment value
You don't seem to understand what I want or mean if you think I want an "unpredictable" AI. There is nothing unpredictable about real people, so there should be nothing unpredictable about an AI that is simulating a character.
Behavior trees and goal oriented are not mutually exclusive. The problem is you had neither here, or the implementation was not good. Yes, it looked pretty the first time you played, but it was very easy to break, because there were no trees (or the nodes in the trees were too long and trees to shallow).
You say that AI classes teach FEAR in universities… Maybe that's why gaming AI has not advanced much in years, they all look up to the poster boy of bad AI.
@AmpegV4 All that has to be said about this Rage 2 turd has been said, so, naturally, people have their thoughts wonder.
A Pilotable Mech? A giant Sandworm? New vehicles? New Cheats? New Game Modes? A new faction!?
There’s a lot coming to the wild wasteland of RAGE 2.
Watch our official E3 trailer for a preview of some of the newness coming each week, including a preview of our first DLC expansion, Rise of the Ghosts, coming later this year.
Does anyone knows whether the CODEX update 1 contains (unlocks) the store skins for the game?
No for dlc stuff you need a save with all the stuff already unlocked. There is such save floating in rin with all store skins and deluxe/preorder bonuses.
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D / MSI Gaming X Slim GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER / ASRock B650 PRO RS / Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 / G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2x16GB DDR5-6000 CL30 / Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB / SeaSonic VERTEX GX-850 850W Gold / Lian Li LANCOOL 216
It takes more time to apply the CODEX patch than to download both the game and patch releases.
They say it will take 76.48GB to install the patch. So why the fuck not just pack the new files as they are and that's it, rather than applying deltas that take ages. What is, this the 90s? People have internet these days.

Because then there will be people bitching why they release full game and not delta only. But i understand you. In steam it was the same. Insanely slow update process so i just deleted files and did a fresh download.

More free stuff for you! RAGE 2 received its second major update on 7/25, loaded with new game modes, a new difficulty level, and so much more. Ozzy Man Reviews gives us a breakdown of all the cool new shit!
New Game +: Begin the game again with all of your weapons, abilities, upgrades, and vehicles. Earn Prestige ranks every time you beat the game.
Ironman Mode: Everyone knows Ironman Mode. You die, you lose. Sound tough? Nah. You got this. We believe in you! (Don’t worry, using your Defibrillator doesn’t count as dying.)
Ultra Nightmare Difficulty: When we talked to RAGE 2’s producers about Ultra Nightmare difficulty, he just said it was “crazy hard” and stared off into the distance with a haunted look in his eyes. It’s probably fine, though.
The Ghosts have been busy building an army, and turning their twisted vision into a reality. Take them on in a new story, with a massive new region to explore, and a new weapon & ability.#RAGE2's first DLC expansion, Rise of the Ghosts, is coming 9/26!
The only aspect that doesn't reek of manure is the shooting, which is rather meaty and mainly consists in liberating outposts a là Ubicry whilst using ranger Kimberly's superpowers on steroids.
As for the "story", world-building/exploration, driving, progression and enemy variety:
A "meh" game you can play all fine, but the moment you have the chance to do anything even slightly more entertaining, you'll drop it and never come back.
"Rise of the Ghosts will launch on all platforms on September 26. Download it from the in-game store for 1500 RAGE Coins ($15). You need to be online and signed into your BNET account to access the in-game store."
