Gameplay-wise it's definitely the best and most polished From game and while I still prefer Bloodborne because atmosphere-wise that game is untouchable, Sekiro still comes close with the sum of it's parts.

IMO its not harder than Dark Souls. Its just hard to get used to if you have muscle memory from playing DS a lot. Once you get used to new system and upgrade life 5+ times its mostly walk in a park.

You are fucking crazy. It is much harder than Dark souls. In souls, You can spec character for Your preferred playstyle and summon help if needed.
Here, there is only 1 playstyle and you have to learn it and be good at it. The leveling from memories is linear and all You can do is not level if You want the game to be harder.

Thats why i said IMO. Fought Owl with 7 or 8 life upgrades and 8 estus and killed him first try without even resurrect. And i was far from perfect. Made so many mistakes, but large health pool and estus + sugars saved my ass.

Go watch some bdsm porn or something if You want punishment or play ng+

Planning to play NG+ for the "bad" ending for sure. Have all items to complete the 3 versions of the "good" ending so after final boss will make backup and do all for the achievements. (and also the 4 mini bosses that appear only after you deal with the final boss).

Must be getting close to the end of the game now as I'm in the final area.
Awesome game, I love it but I think they went kinda overboard with the minibosses Laughing Why are there so many of them? Some just repeat as well. 3 fat fucks, 2 bulls, 3 magic faggots, 4-5 headless? Don't need one around every corner. Good thing some of them are optional, though I do want those beads.

Finally finished it. Beat all Bosses and Mini Bosses the game can offer in "good/long" ending. From all bosses only the last one is a bit unfair and also the Demon of Hatred one (but that has super cheese way to kill Laughing) Also did the save thing to get all variations of that ending. Now will blaze trough the game to get "bad/short" ending. Very Happy

started my NG+ run and its easy as fuck, just beat 2nd Genichiro battle and so far didnt die even once since i started the run.
Of course its easier with all the gourds you have after finishing the game, but I didn't even use more than 2 in the battle, it all goes very smoothly, even the Seven Spears and Ashina elite minibosses were so damn easy.

Finished the bad ending too on NG+ went trough as fast as possible. Now only thing left is get all skills and all tools upgrades achievements. Sadly for all tools you must go to the end game to be able to get all ultimate ones.

Stuck in between pain and despair I finally finished the sadokiromasochistic journey as well, what a great ride. It doesn't quite replace Dark Souls but it quenches that very need, kudos to From for creating yet another inspired world with one hell of a smooth and satisfying combat system serving as the absolute core of everything.

The enemy variety wasn't stellar, the stealth routines could have been deeper and the actual level design sometimes lacked both complexity and the usual sense of dread, but these are mostly minor hindrances that didn't hamper the fun factor for me. The game is still full of surprises and genuine oh shit moments, it constantly requires adaptation techniques along with specific strategies despite the fixed equipment. I found it slightly easier than Dark Souls on average (because of the Resurrections and parrying patterns to memorize in a rhythmic fashion Razz) but when it's demanding, damn, it truly is a son of a Shinobitch.

8 lumps of sacred fat wax/10 (best 2019 game so far alongside RE2make in my opinion), may the Jap treasure carp be blessed!

What I'd like to see patched in is a way to turn off those damn tutorial text and item pickup popups.

I find it pretty annoying to have the whole game pause in the middle of some badass kill animations or in the middle of combat to tell me I got some item I don't really give a shit about right now. Stop interrupting dammit!

Probably my biggest nitpick of the whole game lol

Finiiiished! Very Happy

Overall, enjoyed the trip, minus the frustrating moments. I had some issues with mini-bosses more than the real ones Sad

Once again From showed us they know how to build a captivating game, no matter the world it's set to, w/out straining too far from their formula.

What I like the most is the simplicity of their games and Sekiro isn't shy of that. There's no pompous, boring dialogues, or puzzles, you just get a blade and figure it out how you cut the enemy before it cuts you. I noticed some of the enemies, bosses having similar moves with characters from the other games, as well as sounds.

I still prefer Bloodborne over all other From games, Sekiro gets a 10/10 from me and GOTY.

tbh, I don't need an assassin's creed game set in Japan anymore Mr. Green

Finished it as well. Last boss was a bit of a bitch since I couldn't get the lightning reverse to work on him so I kept dying at last stage. But then it clicked and even had health gourds left over after the fight.
The bosses I liked the most were Owl 2nd fight and Guardian Ape, I think. But quality game overall I'd say it's as good as Bloodborne, but Dark Souls 1 is still the most special From game for me Very Happy

Likewise. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed Sekiro and its refreshing combat, Dark Souls still sits on top of my personal From throne (with Dark Souls 3 not being too far off from it). There's something really special about its decaying atmosphere, sense of solitude, restricted movements and the grim interconnected structures full of mind-blowing shortcuts and inhabitated by bizarre beasts, almost like a survival horror experience.

Dark Souls 2 occupies the last position but that absolutely doesn't mean it's a bad game, as a whole it's still better than the 90% of the stuff released these days. I've never had the chance to play Bloodborne and Demon's Souls though, damned exclusives Razz Crying or Very sad

It's probably better if he doesn't see anything, we might risk opening Pandora's box

Although the idea of a Sekiro II with an improved Thomas would be quite enticing:
