"My writing has to be as much fun as going to parties, taking drugs or jacking off," he said, in regards to the personal standards he sets for his own work

That quote right there is retarded...how can writing a book be more fun than jacking off or going to parties? Ok, drugs, possibly, thats a personal taste? But more fun than having an orgasim (in anyway, solo or not) and partying?
Meh...to each his own right?

just noticed this now syco...i think with 'his writing' he refers to his works, his books.
not to the process of writing them, more like to the readers reading them, audience hearing them Wink

I just read guts. Good short story Smile Pretty funny and slick. It dies away a bit towards the end but the first 3 pages are really good.

edit: just read
http://www.generationterrorists.com/articles/the_ghost_who_came_to_say_he_was_sorry.shtml

Quote:
This man, he's not my only deluded friend. Another friend -- I'll call her Brenda -- says she can see the future. Over dinner, she'll ruin your best story by suddenly drawing a huge gasp, covering her mouth with her hand, and rearing back in her chair with a look of wide-eyed terror on her face. When you ask what's wrong, she'll say, "Oh. . . nothing, really." Then close her eyes and try to shake the terrible vision from her mind.
When you persist, she'll take your hand in hers and beg you, "Please, please. Just stay away from automobiles for the next six years."
For the next six years!

that had me laughin Very Happy

onto the next story Smile

Yea but it's funny and graphic. It's a great piece of writing and pretty unique. The fact it's so graphic is the whole intention of it. It's supposed to make you cringe and heave. The story of the carrot made me laugh. It's just goooooooooooooooooooooooood
