It's just too empty. A sparse few enemy types to kill with terrible AI, all the loot is just mostly cosmetic clothing, ammo and the same few utility items over and over again. The quests just point you towards more of the same loot your bag is already chock full of.
The only good thing about this is the premise. If only they built an actual game around it.
They got that time period, but it feels like a budget game with too little of everything.
Also, a sin to have all them Volvo's in the game and not being able to drive it.
I enjoyed it mildly, will play but in this state I'd pay no more than 10€.

how do you even pull that off. that and people are really lacking in patience for the gameplay. it will probably hit negative before long, i wouldn't say its undeserved either, the devs are really out of touch.

I mean these are the geniuses that think it is a good idea to put all the cool shit in Just Cause behind a wall of challenges that LIMITS YOUR ARSENAL as part of i... In a game that is centre entirely around being creative with your tools, and not just gun everything down in a tank. But no, you got to do those boring, antithesis of Just Cause challenges to actually unlock the fun stuff.
speaking of genius, i can't run this shit. call of the wild on the same engine runs 100 fps smooth, this thing on the other hand just stutters and crashes like crazy, not sure if i can actually get it running on my rig

the game does run great, until it freezes sporatically.
i thought initially my overclock was failing, or that i needed to run it on ssd.. but i dialed back the overclock and moved the game to ssd and nothing changed. some kind of random incompatibility i guess.
freezes a lot more if i unrestrict the frame rate, i got no idea what it doesn't like. it's almost like thermal throttling but none of that is going on so yeah, it's fucked for me i think.
i would agree the game is all sorts of empty (having only played 20-30 minutes total) and that looting and nothing else is pretty weird. i feel like the cotw devs are in their full stride of not having a fucking clue about what makes a game good.
So i played a few hours killing off the dog like robots and getting a feel for the game and stumbled upon a new safehouse. Thing was guarded by about 6 heavily armoured/armed dogs and 6 10ft tall humanoid bots that jumped around like freaking ninjas, had a huge melee reach and glitched through walls like crazy when i hid in a house. Bastards were shooting and swiping at me though the walls and occasionally even walking into the too small house. they only needed to hit you 2/3 times or shot you with about 6 bullets to kill you you from full health. Most terrifying half hour of my life! i used something like 60 health packs and a ridiculous amount of ammo.
Did i stray into an area i wasn't supposed to til later in the game? it wasnt far of the beating path.
