Isn't the animation linked to the frame rate? If so, bypassing it would mess the game up
If it wasn't obvious until now, it's a japcrap.
actually i knew it before i asked, but was hoping im wrong. but na its just japcrap, lazy assholes. only case where a 60fps cap is good is fighting games
Jesus so there's no native support for the DS4. . .a peripheral made in Japan?! Are you kidding FS?
It's just controller support bro
But this and a shit ton of other reasons is why nowadays it really doesn't make sense to buy a game at release, at least on PC

Well I have no willpower and that Metacritic.
I got the DS4 to work, but god damn it doesn't even switch over to DS4 icons. I mean. . .god damn.
Game is fucking great as expected, the combat is a big improvement over standard Souls combat and even the stealth gameplay is the best I've experienced in a long while. Stealth is completely mandatory of course but it's very satisfying and has a really good flow the way it's incorporated into the overall gameplay loop. Beginning was super easy and I wondered what all the talk about difficulty was about, but now I am getting raped in a way I haven't since the first time I played Demon's Souls. It's a Souls game but at the same time it's not a Souls game. There is the posture mechanic, but it's different than stamina because it only applies to attacking/defending/deflecting while you can evade, jump, prance and grapplehook around all you want.
I also wasn't a parry player in Souls games, but it's easier and safer to pull off here because the time window is larger and you can do it a little bit before the enemy attack lands so in worst case scenario if your parry failed you will still atleast block the attack with some posture damage. You can learn new forms of parries/counters that help you deal more efficiently with specific enemy attacks, for example a special counter against spear attacks or jumping over a sweep and attacking the enemy from above. These are not completely necessary but using the right parries and counters does significantly higher posture damage to the enemy and gets them stunned faster so you can pull off your deathblow. This way the combat is balanced very well since it heavily rewards high-risk tactics, so you can either go the safe route and slowly hack away at an enemy for a while or properly use your counters and end the fight in seconds.
Being a game so heavily focused on proper timing and parries, I don't even want to think about what it would feel like playing it on a standard PS4 at 30 or probably even sub-30 fps.
Runs great considering I am playing at 4k. About 45-60fps most of time and freesync helps a bit.
Only finished "the tutorial" so far and the game is really interesting. Much different than souls and difficult to compare. It's more different than Bloodborne was different to Souls if You know what I mean.
I have no idea what from software is doing but their controls and combat always feel so good. Even the controller movement is spot on.

Holy shit the Death Tax is steep as FUCK. God damn FROMSOFT. That first "real" fight. . .like you go in thinking "OK, deflect, attack, deflect, attack. . ." Then they're like, "Nope, there's also a 'rock, paper, scissor' mechanic. . .and also enemies will attack more than once in a row."
Tried the tutorial in both japanese and then in English.
English vo is good as usual with from software. Japanese sounds natural and fits the setting.
Not sure which one I prefer... English is less distracting and has more "character". Sculptor for example, has very fitting voice in English.
With Japanese everyone sounds great but I have the same problem as with metro Exodus. It sounds good and fits the setting but I have harder time focusing.
Will probably continue in original Japanese and if it's too distracting, then switch

So I'm fighting my 1st Samurai boss kinda fight and when they do their special moves I can't seem to deflect...is it possible to deflect? Also how come the simple sweep attacks can't get blocked? Deflection im combat seems sh*t...also you can't roll or escape when a simple attack covers the whole map jumpin from one place to another like it's nothing...
Has anyone else had success adding it to Steam as a non-Steam game? When I try to launch it through Steam, the game just crashes. Game runs fine if I open it outside of Steam.
Haven't had any issues with other games until this one.
Does anyone have weird performance issues like weird drops to like half your frame rate ?
I'd should be running this full blown and I have drops like very often it runs like at 32-35-40 then back to 60 and that is since the first encounters where you have to sneak.
Usual, Windows 10, Max settings, motion blur off, even have a reshade on.
Using the 21:9 fix, with or without makes no differences.
I am looking but can't seem to find what is causing this.
Thanks

You mean the first mini boss? It's better to dodge a lot in this fight and attack when it's safe, you can get his first life point by doing a drop attack from the roof.
KCD was mind numbingly easy later on once you got proper armor and weapons, I remember once during a rescue mission near the end the game sent an almost infinite supply of enemies at me, I barely survived after several tries and over 100 dead bodies around me, only to later find out there were only supposed to be like 2 enemies in the area and the game had simply bugged out on me in that regard.
Sekiro is definitely very easy in the beginning, it doesnt kick you in the balls right away, but soon enough.
Can you just ALT+F4 once the saving is done at the bonfire (and the save icon animation disappears) instead of waaaaaaaiting for the logos and stuff to happen?..This is a single player game anyways...
Graphics are a bit bland though...And i do the LB then RT to counter or whatever but it does nothing...
