Yeah, you have to play on 60hz if you want the A button spamming to work .. Atleast on grabs (If they make you fall on the ground by a stabbing that's a different story...Aka "WE WON'T LET YOU")

I liked the game but the lack of music change per fighting style missed some stuff in it.. But i didn't minded, atleast i could see "I'm gonna rape you" Goro Majima moments/Faces grinhurt

Waiting for YK2..Ofcourse i've done only the main story and that's it, got a lot of shit to do

Impressive on the updates for this game.

Yakuza Kiwami patches:

Patch #2
https://steamcommunity.com/app/834530/discussions/0/1798529872655613475/
(Patch #1 - https://steamcommunity.com/app/834530/discussions/0/1798529872655598458/ )

#1
Quote:

• Fixed an issue with the FOV slider zooming in too much during combat.
• Fixed an issue where the UI toggle comes back on after pressing any button.
• Fixed an issue where the game auto-selects an integrated graphic adapter for Nvidia laptop users.
• Fixed an issue with borders when viewing a specific custscene in 2560x1080 resolution.

#2
Quote:

• Fixed an issue where the game launched with limited audio on first run.
• Fixed an issue where the game unlocked all the cutscenes (for new players only).

New beta today for patch #3
https://steamcommunity.com/app/834530/discussions/0/1843566500529794515/

Quote:

• Fixed an issue where mouse sensitivity was not applied correctly to high DPI mice.
• Fixed an issue where the game can crash when retrying fights if Windows a user's name contains non-ANSII characters.
• Fixed an issue in the Japanese intro sequence.

And for Yakuza 0 there's a new beta patch for #3.1
https://steamcommunity.com/app/638970/discussions/0/1776010325134009474/

Quote:

• Fixed an issue related to shaders and shadow rendering affecting lighting/skin tone (most noticeable during cut scene at the end of chapter 6)
• Fixed an issue where certain particle effects were not being displayed (most noticeable when using certain weapons like the cannon)
• Improved ultrawide display support
• Added FOV slider in advanced graphics menu
• Added border artwork displayed during areas with locked aspect ratio when played in non-16:9 display modes
• Added Background audio slider in audio menu
• Added UI toggle in settings menu
• Added target monitor output selection option for multi monitor setups in advanced graphics menu
• Added support for QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboard layouts
• Fixed an issue where disconnecting a controller during conversation could cause a soft lock
• Fixed an issue where mouse cursor would be confined within application window while in menus
• Fixed an issue which could cause a crash when playing the fishing mini game
• Fixed an issue where the game could crash if the installation folder path includes a dot
• Improved behaviour of camera control when using a mouse to use raw mouse input
• Improved mouse scroll wheel behaviour
• Improved Alt+Tab behaviour

So the sheen and particle fixes and even the FOV slider and UI toggle being brought over from Kiwami and more, nice support for these games and the PC version from SEGA!

I might've skipped it but did they fixed the 120hz framerate issues?.. Like , when ya play on 120hz , tapping A during an event a lot to get up/escape from a grab didn't worked at all no matter what, but when playing on 60hz and V-SYNC it works like a charm?..

Think that was fixed earlier but if it's part of Kiwami too then it's probably still part of the engine issues here. Not had any other bugs or game breaking issues with the title though but I do run at a capped 60 FPS currently up to chapter 7 (Padding! Though it seems to be going back to the core story finally.) and no issues so far with the game.

Well the only issue is part of the design mentality and the boss battles and the use of heat actions and damage sponges and how easily you can get stunned or grabbed but it's doable though apparently the later bosses can get even cheaper so yay?

Majima Everywhere seems fun too but they really do mean everywhere.

And I might just be remembering things incorrectly but I swear the blood effects were dialed up by a lot in this game.

Though apparently Kiriyu never killed anyone, much. Razz Or at least more than once.

EDIT: Kiryu? Kiriju? Kiriyu ehh need to look at the subtitles more for what he's actually named. Can never remember the exact spelling.

After the Zero I was soo looking forward to this.
Unfortunately I must admit I'm a little bit dissapointed, it's very similar to 0 but with less content. I guess it makes sense that Kiwami being the remaster of first installment, still was expecting something more from it.
Oh Zero Y U spoiled me so much???

I still haven't played Zero yet but I was going to soon, now I wonder if it is better to play Kiwami first?

Kiwami has references to Zero but fairly light ones so you can start with either although Zero seems to have more content and isn't limited by being a remake of a older game in what they could do or add or change. Smile

Combat and such from Zero carried into Kiwami but I still preferred Yakuza 0 though the amount of content and side stuff was also staggering, Kiwami isn't bad but it has less of that sort of thing and there's also less story chapters plus a few of them feel like filler.

It's better to start Kiwami first in my opinion as it gives you an idea of who the players in 0 are.

0 is a prequel so I think playing the first game or at least Kiwami first improves 0 a lot story wise.

Plus as mentioned, there's less to do in Kiwami than 0, even with all the stuff they added that wasn't in the original game. Play Kiwami first and 0 will be a step up in terms of content (apart from needing the quick change jacket to mimic Kiwami combaat). Do it the other way around and Kiwami is a step down from 0.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. Storywise 0 is a prequel but it is the newer game after all. It would be like watching Star Wars Ep 1-3 before 4-6.
There is also Kiwami 2 for the PS4, the remake of Yakuza 2 but not announced for PC yet.

So they are doing chronological order which makes sense but this will probably take a while anyway Kiwami 2 should be at least as good as 0 from what i heard so bring it on.

finished Kiwami a few days ago, took me over 60hours
Zero is next then, I think that's the best order to play

then Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6, only a matter of time till they come to PC and they also appear to have upgraded visuals compared to the other two
Yakuza 3-5 will get more simple remasters of the PS3 versions most likely, not fully fledged remakes like the Kiwami games

I hadn't a single issue running Kiwami, it ran much smoother than Zero which was in a pretty sorry state on launch technically wise - freezes, stutters, sound glitches.
On to Kiwami 2 next I guess, hopefully it will be a smooth ride just as the 1st one Smile

Dragon Engine has a few issues on PC though it's been updated a bit, latest update is less than a week old and fixed some internal engine issues which bodes well as it might hint at the work on Yakuza 6 which has been listed on PC for 2019 for SEGA's release schedule might still be going strong and they fixed a few things as they worked on the port even if that Dragon engine is older than Kiwami 2's variant though the port might still benefit from some updates. Smile

3 - 5 were also announced for PS4 releasing between now and February 2020 probably meaning Steam PC is happening March 2020 and later meaning sometime after the compilation is out in full on console and then there's been mention of interest in officially localizing Ishin but we'll see what happens which I suppose also goes for Fist of the North Star and Judgement / Judge Eyes for PC.

Could also delay Yakuza 6 on PC I suppose and get these out in order and gradually escalating the number of weird twists and pulls and story turnarounds with Yakuza 0 as a more grounded entry and then Kiwami 1 and Kiwami 2 are mostly remaking the older games although changing up the content a bit and remixing the side stories.

Going to be a bit weird getting to a engine older than that in Zero which I think was introduced in Yakuza 5 and then backwards for the Dragon engine between Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6 although port wise it might mostly just affect the way the combat flows with Kiwami 2 enhancing and improving some of the physics interactions and calculations.
(From the systems of Zero and Kiwami 1 introducing the style system to Kiwami 2 sure took a while to get used to but I kinda liked what the engine allowed for in terms of how seamless it was and also reducing area transitions and loading of interiors.)

Kiwami 2 has a few twists too but it sounds like it's getting even more out of hand than these and overall I liked Kiwami 2's central character and the core story wasn't bad but it's been hard to displace the fantastic entry of Yakuza Zero even if it has some faults as well and the amount of content is pretty staggering not that it's a bad thing and much of it is optional although grinding up for unlocking more abilities is helpful.
(Also something that keeps changing, hello RPG system lite of Kiwami 2)

Think Yakuza 3 even brings back a bit of English dialogue after Yakuza 1 kinda...tried although it wasn't bad but it would probably not work as well these days.

(Mostly using Kiwami 1 footage for said dub.)

EDIT: Oh and it does contain several story spoilers since it kinda goes through the story part of the game but at a faster pace but still showing many of the key scenes.
