That's a lot lower than I was expecting. That 7.5mil they were paid by Paradox is pretty much exactly what they would have made in BT sales, after Valve's cut (and before tax).
he first-ever BATTLETECH expansion comes complete with three new ‘Mechs (including the highly anticipated Hatchetman), a challenging new mission type, and a new tropical biome, along with its featured namesake, Flashpoints. Flashpoints are high-stakes branching short stories, comprised of procedural mercenary missions linked together with new crew conversations, special events, critical choices, and valuable rewards. To ramp up the intensity, some Flashpoint stories will feature “Consecutive Deployments” in which players won’t be able to repair their ‘Mechs between missions.
KEY FEATURES
• Flashpoints - Test your command skills in a series of action-packed short stories, completing extended contracts to earn big bonuses.
• New Biome - Navigate a lush tropical beach environment, with sunny shores and just a pinch of alien flare, for good measure. Sunscreen optional.
• New BattleMechs - Get your ‘Mech on with the armor-chopping power of the Hatchetman, the speed and versatility of the Crab, and the multi-range firepower of the Cyclops.
• New Encounter - In “Target Acquisition”, you’ll put your light and medium ‘Mechs to good use by taking control of three territories on the map to prevail!
With all the SJW crap shoved down the player's throat, if you asked me to visualise the designers/writers of this game, I would say it's hipsters and trannies, all white males. Bonus sexual harassment drama, but that happened a few months ago already
Bored to watch 20 min video, are they adding single player content?
Pretty much the very first thing you see in the game is the option to select a non-binary gender. And both "women" in the starting pilot roster are trannies (confirmed by the designer, who is also a tranny).
and thats all? Expected much more with the "shoved down the player's throat" statement ... people are so fast to outrage nowaydays for every little irrelevant shit
I think people overreacted with the gender choices. You're still free to create your own character, and if you must you can refuse to hire any of them if you don't want them. Or, even better, just mod them out, it's a lot easier than you'd think.
As for the story, I didn't really see how it impacted it either. I think Assassin's Creed Odessey was by far the worst in games, along with BF5 in terms of shoving it down people's throat by rewriting history. This was child's play in comparison.

The gender option did bother me a bit, it was obviously forced on the players.

It's not just about the gender choice. If you didn't find the story a SJW-fest, then fine, I am not going to write a diatribe about it and would rather talk about the additions in this expansion.
If by SP content you mean story, they mention "branching short stories" and "crew conversations, special events, critical choices", but I wouldn't expect much out of it. The main campaign wasn't exactly overburdened with narrative content. It's basically just a bunch of chained side-quests.

"Is that all?" Really? This is clear evidence of how the games industry is really catering to a tiny minority while willing to piss off the larger fan bases and you go "that's all?". What did you expect, two shemales dick fighting or a mini-game where you got to dock their dicks together?
It bothered me enough to not even try it. Bit tired of that shouting in your face how progressive they are. I can only see them as being backwards for it taking them so long and it being done in such an awkward/unnatural way.

i just find it funny to see people be pissed about ssuch minor thing especially in turnbased strategy game about mechs and yeah thats all - i play games for the enjoynment of the world ,gameplay and story .. not to care about sociopolitical bullshit people rage about on the internet these days

I still fail to understand how giving players an option is "forcing things down people's throats". That is literally the exact opposite of that.
Having ONLY a trans option, now that would qualify. Stop being such sensitive little snowflakes guys.

For me the story is not as awesome as it could have been. I wanted to be a hardass mercenary, not doing all the work for a strong womyn who was born into power and wants the throne back because it's #herturn The worst thing was the strong fat feminist muslim genius wearing a headscarf thingy, best engineer in the universe, who divorced her husband because she is a career woman or something ... what the actual fuck, they reached HARD for that one, I don't play a mech game in the far future to see this contemporary propaganda
Anyway, I enjoyed the game and want to play more of it. Because MECHS! And want more story content for it, maybe a whole new campaign. With new characters, maybe they'll be interesting characters by themselves, not intersectional feminism checkbox-ticking.
The dialogue options in the original campaign had literally no effect, the second time I played through it, I just selected whatever and all the characters went along with it. Derp.
All-new Career Mode - Career Mode challenges you to begin the game with the Argo in a random system, with a random group of MechWarriors, with no story missions to rely on for big payouts. Wander the Periphery taking contracts (and Flashpoints, if you own Flashpoint!) and manage and grow your mercenary company to earn a final score. Career mode is played in Ironman mode by default, so it is also possible to “lose” this mode unrecoverably. (But Ironman mode can be disabled, and all the same granular difficulty settings from the campaign can also be adjusted in Career Mode.)
Revamped MechWarrior abilities - We heard a bunch of feedback about the Bulwark ability and how you HAD to take it to finish the campaign and it got us thinking… and then revising Bulwark… and realizing that we should just rebalance the whole dang set of abilities. Then we put it out as an opt-in Beta and got some great feedback - thanks! We’ve been working on it ever since and we’ve released the revised abilities in 1.3. You can read the complete details in this forum post. The first time you load any game session after updating to 1.3, you'll see a popup informing you that all of your MechWarrior skills have been refunded, so that you can review the new abilities and respec accordingly.
Revisions to the Reputation System - We’ve increased the rate at which reputation rises and falls so you can really feel the effects of your actions. When you reach the maximum possible reputation with a faction, you become eligible for an Alliance. By entering into an Alliance, you mark yourself an ally of that faction - and an enemy of that faction's enemies.
Faction stores - In addition to making higher difficulty contracts and salvage available, Alliances also allow you to access faction-specific stores containing items you might not find anywhere else.
Black Market stores - If you play your cards right, criminal elements will allow you to buy access to the Black Market, where you’ll find some equipment that fell off a transport…
New Events, including cameos from two Legendary MechWarriors (these were part of our “social sharing” Backer reward from the Kickstarter, and we expect the other two cameos to make it into the next free update.)
New mercenary contracts - now you can take jobs from Pirates!
New inventory items - including rare LosTech from before the fall of the Star League!
New Achievements - 19 new mercenary and story achievements have been added to the campaign and career modes!
I fucking hate the visibility changes. You literally cannot see an enemy standing a few hexes away. At least you can alter that with some simple JSON edits though. Otherwise, it's mostly a pretty solid, as long as you don't mind being catapulted forwards to the Clan invasion era. It adds a whole swathe of customisation and weapon/equipment options that is way beyond anything in the base game. Once you've tried it you'll likely be unable to go back to the vanilla game.
They will tweak the visibility stuff - there are some mechs that are completetly ridiculous (for example Guerilla and some lights). But most of this stuff can be countered with proper equipment. C3 is extremely useful even if you on't have advanced sensors.
