We're planning on going to Zurich for four days and I had some questions. Hopefully some of you can help me.
Is everything open on Easter monday? Is there enough to see for four days? We're cultural people and we love parks. My wife really wants to see Heidi village. Is it worth it for a day trip?

If Zurich is like most other European cities, I'm sure most shops will be closed on holidays.
Haven't been there yet, though, so can't help with the rest of the query Smile

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

My friend has gone there and said that stores would close pretty early by say 6-7:30pm and that everything was shuttered on Sunday (except for stores in the railway or airport Laughing ).

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Haven't been to Zurich but expect it like most countries in central Europe: everything butt tight closed on a Sunday.

We'll be arriving late on Sunday, so that's not a big problem, I am more worried about second easter day (monday). Pretty much everything is open here in NL on that day, I'm hoping it's the same in Zuroch.

Not here in Germany. I suppose apart from restaurants everything will be closed.

Same goes for Poland - everything is closed.
And according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holidays_in_Switzerland - it's similar in most of Switzerland.

Any ideas how it will be with public transportation (boats, trains)? We could visit the mountains and take a boat across the lake on Easter monday.

If it's anything like France, then most public transportation will work, but at the most minimal rate - it's a big city after all, not some countryside village - and that a good part of the tourist-y stuff will be open.
You could go for something like this ( not very original but I grabbed the first result ), should be working even on Easter monday: https://www.zuerich.com/en/visit/tours-excursions/jungfraujoch-8-am#internal
