Everything should work fine (it did for me), but if you encounter that problem, there's a ghetto fix.

Yeah it is a split on this background music fix. Some say its better with those few track sped up. I don't know really.

The sped up tracks are simply wrong. Use the fix if you care to hear them properly, unless you somehow find them better (why?) like that.
Of course, if you are not familiar with the game's music, you won't notice that they play wrong.

Here's hoping for a PC release too, since it's the last "main" RE game that doesn't have a PC version.
I also hope it's not a straight port of the PS360 remaster, because the new color palette they put in it is not very good. As long as they revert it, or improve it, it'll be ok.

Yeah, it would definitely make sense to re-remake it following the style of the upcoming RE2make (if the sales will be satisfying enough). Hell, add the third one as well and we can have a complete shiny modern re-remade trilogy
With the proper care and no unnecessary derpifications anything would be welcome, just imagine for instance the Dino Crisis games remade using Capcom's current tech/engine..*giggity*
Nah, ain't happening. If another remake is coming next that is RE3's so that they reuse assets from RE2make. That's what makes business sense to do.
And that might happen after RE8, because that one is already in development. And after RE3make they will likely follow up with RE9.
And RE10, 7+++ years from now, will likely be reboot. Maybe based on the original, but it won't be a remake.

Whatever success RE7 had wasn't because of its heroes (Ethan is a nobody, almost no personality whatsoever), and the original, iconic, characters that a big part of the fanbase is interested in, are going to be in their 50s in a few years (Chris is 45 in 2018, so he's going to be 52+++ in the 7+++ years, I talked above).
A reboot will be happening, eventually, for this if not other reasons, like reintroducing Wesker, another fan favorite.

There's a lot of retconning and the story is quite convoluted by now too but yeah the early trio of games before they started expanding on it is still up there as my personal favorites in the series although I never had a Gamecube so the PC ports of RE1 remade and RE0 was the first time I went through those.
For Resident Evil 4 I watched the re-released version as a walkthrough series of videos and I suffered or "played" the initial PC port and on mouse and keyboard with all kinds of problems ha ha.
Was enjoyable for what it was but in comparison as I learned much later this first port was candidate for worst effort of the year having broken or missing features and functionality all across, glad to see the re-released version having gotten a bit better with patches and now the modding effort is updating it to a new level of quality although there's a limit to what they can do but it's still impressive.
For 5 well Chris ran around in leather with his amazon/tribeswoman partner who also ate all the ammunition and then had a epic bromance/fist-talk in a volcano ha ha, well there was more to it but 5 and 6 weren't my favorites though 6 had some interesting ideas like the split campaigns and different feels for how these worked and played.
Really enjoyed 7 and hoping for RE2 Remake here to be a good installment even if it's a re-creation of the second game and adding and updating a lot of things.
ORC or Operation Raccoon City well it's a co-op what-if and then Revelations the first one was nice though the scanner got a bit tiresome and then the sequel was some episodic attempt but I don't think it did too well even with the most ridiculous custom outfits since road warrior Chris ha ha.
(Fedora Leon and his typewriter wasn't bad though and custom outfits has been with the series since the start I suppose.)
Never played Resident Evil Gaiden or some of the rail shooter games myself but have seen parts of them.
Code Veronica sounds interesting too but ultimately the rumors of it coming after RE0 apparently didn't pan out so eh maybe later depending on source data availability and interest?
Big leather clad tentacle meat-monster yelling for ARSE! (Well, STARS!) is probably more likely following the upcoming RE2 Remake though.

Actually I think they retconned a bit how the city exploded too, not really nuclear but some incendiary missile and how it was covered and treated with the fall of Umbrella and the leaking of bio weapons as some terrorist device because this wobbly mass of goo and failure is apparently effective.
EDIT: Though by now Chris and Leon both improved way past Wesker's forced virus improvements and can dodge bullets at point blank and just "meh" at undead because they're no threat what so ever.
