Worth it? Very Happy Despite only 15 hours and no replay value?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I would say yes. It's by no means perfect. You'll have to tolerate some gameplay flaws and the low variety of enemies.

I know that prices went crazy, specially for AAA titles... but still 30$ for 15hrs of gameplay... Meh. Lazy DEVs. Will wait for 50% sale.

Whoever made the controls on PC should be kicked in the balls. Clearly designed for the pad.

Got to the Ark, get killed on third encounter due to my own stupidity. So far pretty ok, but the UI and controls leave something to desire. And I can't setup everything on high and get steady 60 fps on RX580...

Because game length is inversely proportional with lazyness? Oh boy, Ubisoft must be the most hard working studio around.

Before I finished it there was an extremely annoying bug with the UI during combat. After loading a save, I couldn't select a combat action with my mouse, it would consider that I clicked the ground beneath the UI elements. Also, that multifunctional space is just terrible. You want to speed up the enemy's turn and end up moving your character without wanting to. Laughing

CDProjekt for sure is. I spent around that sum for W3 key and got more than 15hrs. So... it can be done. So DEV =/= DEV.

You spent that much on a key that you didn't get at full price and you use it as comparison because fuck logic. Also, your example is an exception which by definition cannot be used as the rule, which you are trying to do.

I spent 30$ becouse it was here where I live normal price for it. It was not on sale of any kind. And if you support such behaviour.. yeah it is going to be an exception.

Finally finished it taking around 18 hours on hard.

6/10

Pros:
Stealth, freedom of exploration, the game in itself is ok for a turn based rpg.

Cons:
Mostly terrible UI, controls and cluncky combat. I can't see it being finishing on iron man because you are forced to save scum due to the fact that you are always against the odds. The combat is buggy, there are situations where you should be able to take the shot but somehow even if you have a clear line of sight the game tells you that there is none or for example being four squares away from enemy you are out of range... wtf?
Not all skills work or are just not worth buying.

Mutant Year Zero is the underdog of two subgenres and the bold entry of a new studio on a market of established titles. A throwback if you will to a different kind of post apocalyptic games, before they got diluted in needless exploration. I enjoyed the game more than I thought I would after quickly realizing its flaws. And I wish more effort was put on flashing out its RPG side as the writing shows great promise. Needless to say, if you are looking for a short, captivating but flawed tactical RPG, this might be the game for you.

Pros:
+ Clever writing
+ Artistic direction
+ Quality voice acting
+ Handcrafted level design
+ A solid attempt at combining stealth with turn based combat

Cons:
– The progression system lacks depth
– The enemy variety
– Imbalanced difficulty relying on numerous spongy enemies
– Some issues with the UI and the camera
– Not much replay value

I bought this, played it, finished it on Very Hard - was a nice challenge from time to time. The mid point was the hardest part, it became apparent then, I should have spent my resources a bit more wisely, but a couple of hours later, I course corrected, and it became easier then.

Great game overall (do not play easier difficulties!). Nice tactics, nice lore, nice execution. Well worth it. Hope they make more.

I really liked the game as well, took me 19h on hard.
I ended using only 3 characters for the whole story (Dux, Bormin and Magnus).
A couple of weapon mods make things clearly easier, for instance the 50% chance EMP mode is so handy to get rid of robots without much trouble.
Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the story / voice acting and the turn-based combat felt satisfying to me.
