I tried the game, I have to say it's kinda boring. Not sure if environments become more varied at some point but going through the same dark fog of war ridden areas is not very exciting. Combined with the slog that is getting back to your body if you die it is rather meh.
Not only I had to go back from floor 10 to 16 because there is no way to climb back up in the second half of the game. But I'm at what should be the end and I can't even finish the game. Someone really wanted to artificially extend this tedious game as much as possible. In order to finish it you have to collect all the lantern fragments hidden around the entire game. Even Shadow of the Tomb Raider was more enjoyable and I didn't have to wait 5 years for a mediocre game...
The prolonged time spent in limbo hasn’t done Below any favors. The conflicting gameplay concepts are the scars of a troubled development process and I can’t help but wonder how many of the game’s current features are just an afterthought? Whilst forcing myself to continue playing Below, I kept thinking that this remarkable visual design is worthy of a better game.
