Well, apart from the creppy eyes I like it. So I guess this is perfect for plebs like me.
Why would you be a pleb?
People are just different, have different tolerances/sensitivies/standards. Let's all just celebrate these differences by touching penis.
sar·casm | \ ˈsär-ˌka-zəm \

2a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual
b: the use or language of sarcasm
Looks to me like a Steven Spielberg flick, so it's a no no for me.
There are two Spielbergs. One that directed Jurassic Park, Close Encounters, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan. And another that directed Ready Player One, The BFG, Hook, Indiana Crystal Skull.
Where's the gruesome violence ? Where's the dystopian universe full of filth and violence ( this one looks like regular SciFi ) ? Where are the crude motives behind every person's actions ? There's no reason Alita should have bigger-than-usual eyes as well, her whole body is a sign she's a robot enough.
This is not Alita. I bet it'll loosely follow some of the story elements and might be enjoyable on its own if you've never read it, but has nothing to do with the original manga in my opinion.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

have been thinking that too, I remember the original being fairly bleak, violent and not having a rosy ending. This one so far looks like Ready Player One.
Well, I saw it last night and I like it. I like the whole theme and world building. Of course it has cliché moments but still, nice movie. There are some scenes where CGI Alita is in too much contrast with real actors but overall they have done a good job with this movie

These day VFX looks absolutely garbage at times due to shit color grading, take a look marvel movies for example... Not sure why they color grade with candy colors that does not match rest of the scene/actors.

Anyway gonna go watch this weekend
I was thinking just that when I watched the wasted Mortal Engines. In some scenes (the fast paced ones) where actors and VFX mixed it was very noticeable. I am usually very forgiving when it comes to visuals so if I notice something that I remember clearly, then it's seriously bad.
Perhaps things get better when they augment actors with digital doubles (ie. the actors are basically being motion captured and then have their features superimposed by digital means).
Won't be too long until we see a new movie with Marilyn Monroe.. well, a digital version of her at any rate.
Weeel, they've shown almost everything in that trailer... Looks good, but feels not very similar to the original manga. Eh, all manga fans problem - we're gonna compare the movie to the original story.

Alita was "performance captured" as Cameron explained in the pre-movie video-reel we were shown. So Salazar acted all (well, most of them apart from obvious physics ignoring ones) the scenes and the captured footage was overlayed with Alita.
