Ant-Man and The Wasp 3D - 7/10

I was about to plant a 6 or even a 5.5 just after watching it and feeling like it wasn't as fun as the first one, but after a couple hours of thought I think I already like it for what it was. Also, the first post-credits scene was touching if you consider the whole MCU. 3D effects were better on the first one though.

The Night Comes For Us - 8/10

2 hours of non-stop violent indonesian action in the same vein as The Raid 1-2. If you loved those movies, do yourself a favor and check this out on Netflix. Also, it's brutal as hell. Well, brutal might even be a huge understatement. It's extremely over-the-top violent, but if you can stomach it and are a sucker for some quality action, I highly recommend this.
The story is sparse and only exists to connect the action scenes, but the action itself is fantastic and really well made.

Solo (and the Wookiee, showering together ʕ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°ʔ) - 6/10

The movie was quite insipid and unnecessary as per Disneyian traditions in the Bantha milk manufacturing, but not as terrible as I thought it would be. It doesn't take itself too seriously, Ron Ron's direction is alright, Han is (surprisingly) portrayed in a decent manner and the usual sprinkles of fan service here and there help setting up the mood (sort of).

There's nothing that really stands out though and Emilia Clarke keeps being unable to act properly, but at least it didn't harass my Ashla as much as Star Jedi: The Last Phantom Menace did.

Incredibles 2 - 6/10. Was okay-ish.
Hotel Transylvania 3 - 5/10. Gets worse with every sequel. Nice.
The spy who dumped me - 4/10. Waste of time.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Phantom Thread - 8/10
The writing, the acting (bless you Daniel Day-Lewis), the music, the nuance... everything was wonderful.

Call Me By Your Name - 8/10
Powerful yet simply humane movie about first love, empathy and kindness.

The Night Comes for Us - 6.5 / 10

Eh I saw this getting some good reviews, I thought the story was crap even for a revenge flick, action was pretty good though. Very brutal, lots of blood everywhere.

My favourite character was The Operator, had to look up the name because the movie barely tells you who the fuck she is or why she is there, but she was hot + awesome.

Yeah she was awesome. We need a movie about her! Also, she's Hammer Girl from The Raid 2 Cool

Halloween night with my 12 year old niece. Time to show her the classics Smile
She didn't want to see The Thing, so I went for the next best thing Wink

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) 9/10
Once you realize there's no violence on screen (everything is suggested), it loses a lot of its horror-flavour. But the editing and camera work are really great, and the acting is very convincing.
Still a very fucked-up movie.

Braindead (aka Dead Alive) (1992) 9.5/10
My all time gore-comedy. Visual effects are still awesome (ok, maybe not the Sumatrian rat-monkey Wink )
The (borderline) slapstick scene with Timothy Balme (Lionel) and the zombie-baby in the park is genious. All the cast are great, actually, even the bad ones somehow fit Very Happy
The lawnmower scene still is incredible Laughing

I was torn between this and apostle. I went with apostle and it started decent and even had VVitch vibes (I LOVE that movie) and then it just falls apart is another Netflix dud. Yeah, brutal but only gory to be gory and for the trailer. Story, events, motivations and people are absolutely all over the place.

3.5/10

As it occured it's a pilot for an unreleased mini series and has no real ending. 1 point for Henry Rollins because I'm biased so 4/10.

Well, the movie does fall into the "Gothic Horror" and "Survival Horror" genres so it would be weird if it wasn't gory and brutal.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Well, no kidding...

10 is for the god. If you give a 10 in a film, you assume that there isn't an other movie that can be better, because then you have to give it more than 10.
So 9.9/10 should be the top grade you will give. Smile

I'll tell you what is top notch for me.

I'll give it a 9.5/10
