Issues at work go figure, some time ago i made progress and reached the top position i could get, everything was fine until stuff stopped working, too many people, too much work, couple of us doing all the hard work, others being lazy etc....

So recently i was really positive and pushed ahead trying to get interest in fixing those things, before i could i talk about ideas i got excluded from some courses and a trip so i was feeling like shit, worthless, talked around with some bosses since mine was ignoring me to get some feedback on myself and talk about the situation of being overworked and oportunity to move on and help the new people learn how to work, nothing happened, then another boss ridiculed me in front of some external visits and that really hurt, i dont mind overworking and being excluded, but being disrespected like by someone i thought highly of really fucking hit me hard.

Now im in a rage/hurt state that needs cooling down, im only thinking about moving to the US, but i have 0 idea of how to accomplish that. My current gf is american but i cant help but feel bad when i think that she could help me get there...

I cant reach out to anyone really, but i always feel at home here for some reason. Thanks anyways, fucking people suck, i LOVE my job and i give it my all, why does it fucking have to go this way, worst thing is these people will never lose anything from behaving like that and ignoring problems....

It's the most fucked up advice (since I don't think it should be like that) but I'm going to give it anyway.

NEVER look weak at your job!
No matter how great someone looks like, they are co-workers and therefore ruthless. They will nearly always act in a self-preservation mode. Especially the ones in leader positions or aspiring to those positions.

Workplaces can be a battle ground for egocentric people. Such workplaces tend to drain the life out of better people over time. If you're good at your job, can get a nice CV from it and see no future where things will change, try to find job at another place where things are less mismanaged.

Some bosses have a tendency to be blind to the difference between productive competition and harmful backstabbing (or even promote the latter). They are bad bosses.

I doubt you're the only one feeling like you do. Co-workers just choose not to show it since it would signal "weakness" to the others who might want to take a bite out of your successes for themselves in order to reach the next pinnacle of whatever goals they may have.

I'll give you a good advice and I will give it for free. So, give attention:

In your job, any job, what really mater most, isn't to be good and obedient and even Productive.

You must be well Connected and interconnected with many different ways with your Go workers. You must participate in all their small talks and Little scheming, to be informed about what happens between them, to have knowledge of the social interweaving.
Good luck.

Some really good advice has already been offered, but yeah I would consider leaving this job, it seems like the damage has been done and you won't be able to revert it: as Morphineus said, never look weak.
No matter how competent and motivated you are, some people will always use it for their own gain and at your detriment ( since there can't be two winners, at least for some fucked-up individuals ).
It's very disheartening and your faith in humanity takes a hit, but that's one of those "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" kind of experiences.

If you work for dicks long enough you eventually become a dick yourself, that's what I learned (or maybe the good people are forced out). The biggest mistake you can make is telling yourself "I earn good money and I work for x years here so meh". If you don't feel at home, move on. Once you take a step and it works out, you'll also be more eager to take other chances that might appear in the future.
I'd rather get a lower pay check than work with a bunch of assholes. I can't even imagine how it must be to wake up every morning and go to a place you really don't like. The most important thing in life imo is being comfortable, mentally and physically. Fuck promotions and money if you don't feel comfortable. If you have to be someone else on the workfloor and have to be tough and shit, that's probably not the place for you.

This, all this.
Sure it's easier said than done to take such a leap, but in the long run you'll be better for it.

This couple of years ive gained ground and recognition in general, and in this last encounter i just smiled and said ok and left as nothing happened, i broke down at home, but ive been pushed around and taken for granted so it may as well be the same shit.

In my dept there are 3 seniors, im one of them and the other 2 are 100% on my plane, they recognize my boss is bad and that we are treated like shit, we share everything so in that small circle i dont feel bad, we are the best they have and we know it. (Sadly one of them doesnt fight back much, the other one was gonna leave and stayed due to having to pre-notice his leaving and he couldnt wait 1 month to join the other job, so he stayed)

The thing is, outside our circle, everyone else is lazy and does horrible work (not all of them but not enough to exceed), one boss (not ours) listens to us but i havent seen anything good after talking to him, the other one disrespected me and the big big boss doesnt care much about anything. Ours is just there for the ride i guess.

What we feel is that all of them are really close and in general they see no value in us, they only push their agendas and get all the credit.

Its not a horrible place, but its definitely a swamp, im stuck, tired and lost all motivation.

But sleeping and focusing helped me up, i will by january 2019, have a sure plan to apply to canada or work to get to the us. I need to live a lot better than i currently am. Thanks guys, ive been so happy i didnt post here for quite a while, but it still feels like a small bar with nice people around.

Soundd like a real crappy place to work. Cant say anything but try to find a new job. Also, limit complaining about your boss as people can talk about it behind your back and itll just grt worse.

Sorry for them feels my little drifter Lopin, it seems you're quite attached for that workplace since you have plenty of time there. I can only hope things change in a good way for you. Good luck!

Have been some good posts here, 2 cents.

A job owes you nothing, you are on loan to them at a price that makes sense for them to be profitable. Expecting things from the job / loyalty doing extra hours etc. is all bullshit if your not garnering respect and moving in a direction you want to go.

Putting in extra hours etc. is for suckers (by doing so you are now actively paying your employer for zero return), believe me there is nothing these guys like more than people putting in an extra 10 hours work a week unpaid for nothing in return.

Save yourself man, I spent 3 yrs griping with retard managers getting undervalued. Now I'm like the Suntory Boss and choose roles i want to take on.

Wellll some months went past, indeed i layed off and focused on what i enjoyed, im getting payed anyways. They finally created some agile teams were the workload was shared and now im currently only guiding the other guys and helping when needed, also trying to get experience in some stuff i rarely see since its from other areas. I feel better now, not expecting anything, just learning stuff that i will need later on.

Im planning to get married, my gf and i already spoke and we will be moving to the US, it should take almost a year to get all my papers, so im focused on saving up, learning stuff and getting ready to move. REEEEALLY nervous since i have no idea what to expect when i arrive, but i think my profile seems good, hope my experience here makes me somewhat valuable there.

Lets see whats up, but yea i was wrong to feel like i should be appreciated and looked at for any promotions or anything, they have their own plans and im just another gear to spin, fuck it, now im chilled, still getting payed and playing on the switch.

arent u better off with doing some sort of remote work from home for some usa company and still enjoy lower costs of living and staying closer near ur family ?

usa is a shithole these days, especialy if u plan on having kids, go to europe, just for the healthcare alone, most people i know who moved to usa, got the fuck out of there due to healthcare nightmare

Still undecided, my gf is a us citizen and she has a job offer there, so it makes sense to make this move, if i can get a decent job on IT, i suppose ill have health insurance, but for kids... for living on the long run, im still thinking about canada, but it would be easier to move from the US to canada than make her stay here and start from 0 on canada (she would have to get papers for canada and no job offer) So i think for now, ill experience US and work my ass off, then start thinking about kids and living as a family.
