same
some sound stuttering at the main menu but running around town, doesn't seem to be any issues
pretty sharp at 1440p and i don't feel the need to get the high texture pack
i really liked this game back in the day, though i had to refer to a guide because the in game instructions were pretty bad
also i was reminded about how brown the ps3 era was because oh god it's all brown
in my memory, i always remembered the first town as being more steel and gray in the color palette. guess that's what memory does huh
anyway, will get on this once i finish vc4 which can turn into quite the ragequit game for me lol

Bought this a couple of days ago and only got to play it today. Even tough they say its a 4K edition the port is rather substandard. Doesn't cater for my preferred resolution which is an ultra wide one. I only had a choice of 3 resolutions and unfortunately mine wasn't one of them. So playing the most compatible one which has black bars at the side of the screen.
For a game touting itself as an updated remake it isn't great that new resolutions other than 4k 3840x2160 aren't supported. Still it was priced somewhat decently at £25 though so I can't be too harsh on the game I feel.
I'll still enjoy the game as I liked the original.

They look mildly better, and that could even be argued because it just looks like some sharpening was done, the same as a reshade filter could do.
No idea why the size is so huge. You can even tell by the incredibly minor VRAM increase what a joke they are. Many games with a 4K texture pack see a huge increase in VRAM usage, like Rainbow Six Siege will go from 2GB to 4.5-5GB ect. This increases only a few hundred MB.
It's a good thing it's a separate download. Right now you can get the same results just by using re-shade, I imagine. As a huge fan of the PS3 game, I expected the 4K textures to be something like this...but at a fraction of the size...if this was like a 10GB pack, it'd be worth it, but the base game is 16GB...these textures are 83GB. making the game take almost 100GB of space. It's crazy. No reason for it. 35$ for a PS3 game that didn't even sell well on release. No publisher behind it on Steam either, so the price if further confusing. Tri-Aces own main series, Star Ocean 4, launched at 21$ for Remastered on PC.
Yakuza 0 launched for 20$ and was on pre-sale for like 15-16$ many places and is an excellent PC port, far ahead. Both were PS3 games too.
___ Another problem the game has however, is Page File usage. The game uses about a 35GB page file size. Biggest I've ever seen. Insane. |

Ah I see now. Thanks interactive. I think they are adding the size of the download on top of the base install size of the textures that you install with the original game then.
To be honest the game looks perfectly fine without the high res pack from what i've seen of it at the moment. Still going to grab it though and see the difference it makes, but it's something thats far from a neccesity imho.
