Not to really. Only Russian and Czech and not sure if they should count as they are close to Polish. Also seems like there were French, Portuguese and Lithuanian translations in 2003-2005 which could've happened because the first game was in making. Every other tralnslation happened after the game was released in 2007 including in my country, Bulgaria which is a close slavic-"brotherly" country to Poland.

Yeah, I think that Serbian translation was also published only after the release of Witcher 1. I remember the book impressum said something about the publication being supported/financed by Polish embassy or something.

What a low number to license out your stuff for. |
Because he thought the og witcher game will fail miserably. CDPR tried multiple times to give him a % but he wanted cash money. |
He sold the rights to a different company even earlier (Metropolis), which didn't mange to finish and ship the game. He also took cash for that, so with CDP he might have though it'd be the same and just asked for more cash.
But still - I'd ask for cash + royalties.

He was best known in the former CIS countries.
His name meant jack shit in the West before the games, especially before Witcher 3.

That still doesn't answer the question how many extra books got solid after the game's popularity. Surely it should be easy for the cunt to check his royalty checks? Or did the moron ask for a fixed fee up front there as well?

I read in some site about the first book, The Last Wish, that it sold 10k books in Amazon between 2012 and 2017. 8k of them were after The Witcher 3 came out in 2015. That's only for Amazon and I think only for the English translation. In the year when a game is released , book sales seemed to jump drastically and then steadily decrease. If he takes 50% from a book sale he should have made 4-5 million dollars. According to Sapkowski himself, his net worth is $2,376,095. That's for January 2018.

That doesn't seem a lot considering there's 1000 reviews - the rule is generally that 1-2% of all buyers place a rating. Of course, a lot of non-buyers may have rated the books but still ...

The site I read about it is not gone. I think it only tracked the physical copies while Amazon puts all Kindle and Audio Books together for reviews. My 2 cents is the Audio Books sell the most as recently more and more people like to listen to something while driving, eating etc.

I never heard of this author Brandon Sanderson (The Stormlight Archive and Mistborn) but I guess he seems to be a popular fantasy author and due to the current situation he said he would love to work with CDPR and would even give them the rights to his books for free just to have them made into a great game like they did with the Witcher series.
"If you magically gave me the chance to have an adaptation on the level of the Witcher--but with no payment given to me--I'd take that in a heartbeat. I'd much rather know it will be good (or at least be in the hands of someone skillful and passionate) than gamble on big money up front with a risk of bad quality."
But he also mentioned "I suspect they're done dealing with self-important fantasy authors, and are likely more interested in creating their own new IPs."

If you never heard of Brandon Sanderson, be sure to correct that mistake and read The Way of Kings. For people who like fantasy, Brandon Sanderson is a must-read. His world creating is some of the best and the storytelling ain't bad either.

Hello again.
@h0rnyfavn, thank you very match!
Your link was very useful.
@madmax17
Why I could ask for drugs?
If I want to buy cocaine, I would ask for in the dark net and not in a game forum.
It make no sense to me!
Anyway, in my family drugs are not allowed. One time I have smoke a pot and my mom has spanked me until my bottom was bleeding.
@h0rnyfavn please, if you have any more site for game mods, I'll match appreciate. This Nexus is very good but I can't find anything for an other game I like to play, The Divinity Original Sin 2.
Thanks anyway.
