Admittedly they havent always despatched early but more often than not I’m usually able to play a game the day before release and I highly recommend them.

Thanks, that's my RDR2 retailer sorted then. So long as I don't get it late, that would REALLY bug me! And if there's a chance of a day early then all the better. As this will almost certainly be a keeper I did consider PS Store digital, but as usual it's much more expensive.
I can confirm the game plays at an unlocked framerate in 1080p on PS4 Pro, which runs really nice, mostly 60 fps.
This is quite of a game changer since I did ROTTR on a regular XBONE at 30 fps, and it was more aliased also. SOTTR has a better post processing too, it looks better.
Playing on PS4 Pro with graphics set to resolution rather than framerate and I can confirm it looks great and plays great!
I prefer this to Spider-Man because I can actually murder people lol.
Played about 9 hours with approximately 25% total completion.
May the NFOrce be with you always.

It’s true I cropped the pictures because cyclonefr kept commented on the surface in the background. It was like a marble table not a stone stable?? lol.
I’ve actually moved location since the marble table and now I have wooden one but you still won’t see it due to my cropping lol.
Back on topic ...
I’m enjoying the game. Put another session in last night and I’m up to around 40% completion.
I upped the puzzles to hard so Lara gives zero hints and upped exploration to hard. For the first playthrough I decided to leave combat at normal. I recommend playing on hard or at least having puzzles and exploration set to hard.
I spent a couple of hours so trying to figure out a challenge tomb yesterday. Was getting super frustrated lol. Was ready to give in after about an hour but cracked it. Felt good lol.
I also set the foreign NPCs to speak in their own languages which I set and it kind of adds to the immersion but at the same time Lara responds in English and they understand her which is somewhat immersion breaking ... :/
It was good but I think Rise of the Tomb Raider was a better game. There seems to be more and better tombs in this one but there’s way more pew pew and the bad guy and climax were better in the previous one.
This game doesn’t appear to record the hours played but I would estimate about 35 hours and I’ll be gong back to it for 100% completion. I also know there are a bunch of tombs I missed as I didn’t have the correct equipment to access them when they were discovered.
Not sure I’m bothered about New Game Plus but I might give it a 2nd playthrough on super hard. Combat was definitely too easy on normal mode and I had way too many resources to make it challenging.
Got the season pass as well so I’m hoping for some good DLC!
During the course of development on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, multiple post-credits scenes were explored. Unfortunately one of the directions that was considered, but not chosen, was mistakenly included in the game. The Day One patch fixes this error, along with many other improvements. As always, we highly recommend that our players install the patch to enjoy the complete and most up-to-date experience.
If it’s 70% the game of its predecessors then I think it’s worrh a buy.
But not until it drops to circa £20!
I'd say it's an improvement over the last one in all departments. Apart from the storyline, that isn't really doing it for me, it's a very good game. Worth $60 imo.
A completely new adventure, “The Forge” is the first of seven monthly DLC adventures available through the Season Pass, providing players with an abundance of new content, challenge tombs, co-op experiences, weapons and outfits, Score Attack and Time Attack modes, and additional narrative side missions.
In “The Forge,” Lara must brave the lava-flooded Forge of the fallen gods to uncover the secrets of Kuwaq Yaku. Throughout her journey, Lara will uncover details about a friend’s ancient legacy, and overcome a danger long thought to be lost in flame. “The Forge” delivers a brand-new challenge tomb, playable in both solo and co-op. Players who complete the challenge tomb will be rewarded with the Grenadier skill, Brocken outfit, and Umbrage 3-80 weapon.
“The Forge” DLC goes live across all platforms on November 13, 2018.
