Found a video showing the loading times difference between PC and consoles:
Owning a PS4 I can tell you it's slow as hell in many areas when it comes to downloading, installing and loading games. It took 12 hours to download and install FIFA18 - that's not even funny anymore! It's ridiculous how slow consoles are when it comes to this stuff.
Don't wanna start a PC vs console war but I like to clarify things when they are not correct : downloading "installs" (in fact copy) the game at the same time, just like on Steam.. Not sure where you get the "longer part". Some games like FIFA have a 8GB patch though I get that, but is it really smaller on PC too ?
Actually Downloading doesn't even install games, PS4 games don't need install per se, the console mounts the PKG directly and boots the game right from it, like when you mount a ISO and run a EXE directly. Same for patches, it mounts both base game PKG and patch PKG and merge them into the same volume folder, this is done instantly.
When you exit the game, PKG are unmounted, until you boot them again. No install is ever done.
As for physical games, PS4 won't mount PKG from disc, so the PS4 will have to copy the disc 1:1 on the HDD (might be the install you are reffering to ?). Should even be faster than a PC game because there is no decryption done when copying (obviously), it's just a 1:1 copy A B.
Now that somehow you get a shitty speed on PSN that's another story...

So PCGamer wrote an (fairly shitty) article about K/M support:
Quote:
Monster Hunter can be a menu-heavy game at times and the experience of clicking around the menus with a mouse is superior to pad play. WASD movement feels right, though there's some drag when you're using the mouse to look around. I got used to it quickly, but you can adjust camera speed in the options if you find it irritating. However, I find there is still a touch of lag when looking around that makes the camera feel jumpy at high settings.
The highlighted parts indicate to me that there is some mouse acceleration or some other shenanigan going on there. A bit worrisome (but sadly fully expected).
Sounds like acceleration allright. Mouse being fed stick signals instead of raw input. These guys from PCGamer dont even know what it is. The way they say it: i feel theres some drag to the mouse jesus christ, gaming journalists
Over the course of a four hour session, I saw about one crash an hour. Worse, when a crash occurs during a hunt, you lose all progress since the last save.

Has anyone seen the release TIME for the game yet?
I'm thinking if I have to move my gym day so I get to play this as early as possible, or if it releases at ~19:00 CET...
Ugh another game I'm kinda tempted by.... That review makes it sound good but I can't help but wonder if the multiplayer 'requirement' is going to be a issue down the line... I don't really like the idea of being forced into a group to progress.

Apparently you can play the whole game solo if you want. I believe that coop just adds more HP/Resistance to monsters. No different loot or any special stuff item wise by playing coop.
I might be wrong though but that is what I heard/read a little while back.
Lian-Li XL Dynamic ROG Black - EVGA 1000w - Lian-li Galahad 360 AIO - MSI X570 Meg Ace - Rysen 5950x - G.Skill 4x16GB CL14 3600@3800(14-15-15-34) - Samsung 960 Pro 512 - Samsung 960 Pro 1TB - Kingston HyperX SSD 120gb SATA 3 (6gb/s) - WD Black Caviar 2x 2TB SATA 3 (6gb/s) Raid 0 - WD Black Caviar 2 TB SATA 3 (6gb/s) - EVGA 3090 FTW3 - LG C1 48" 4k120hrz
You can do every mob solo, it has less HP if there's fewer people in the match. Just, you know, you gotta be pretty quick on your feet to handle some of em, like Diablos or Nergigante.
Edit: Ninja'd But yeah, it's accurate, i have around 80 hours in the game on PS4, it's been a lot of fun. Would be more fun with friends though.
There's the additional hunts too which I think are geared for co-op from what I've been reading up on.
Latest one being.
Spoiler:
Bahamuth of Final Fantasy XIV with the lovely little meteor of instant death attack.
But I don't know if these three hunts are in the PC version from the get-go or not.
And then the weekly rotating challenges but I guess these can be soloed unless they tie into hunting these extra opponents which seem to be made for a party of 3 or 4 but can be done solo though not without difficulties.
Got to HR 80 on PS4, I've never paid for online play so I solo'd everything that was available during launch weeks. Knew I was going to get it on PC later anyway, so didn't bother doing the new stuff except for the pickle and one of the Arch Tempered. Definitely a solo-able game, even the event stuff can be solo'd as proven by videos online.
Technically "Goldyguy" can be soloed but it's extremely annoying and slow because of the mechanics of the encounter.
And the newest "big dude" can also be soloed but is scaled for 4 player groups even if you're solo.
Thankfully these two aren't necessary for progression so they can be skipped if you don't want to do random grouping.
Sounds like lazy development to not separate single player and coop. They could've done the simplest change to HP etc. to make it a single player "dude".
