Yea but freeshopNX uses your own cert so it's really risky since it could get you a full cdn ban/burn, then no more easy updates in future.
I stick to cdnsp, they got a few new, yet unburned certs so let's see how that goes. Also there is a full gdrive dump of all eshop nsps floating around.

You are either using a non banned cert or using your own then. The original one that was floating around got banned, probably the new one will be banned too if you are using it anyway.
About SX OS 1.4 : nice but with the sig patch being public and freeshopNX i think these new stuff are not that amazing... But won't complain now it's on par. |
Yeah i just re-read the patch notes and they are using a new cert that someone donated.

I simply got the sx os license for 20 euro, which is delivered within hours, a paperclip and my cellphone usb-c cable, done.

I caved and bought a SX PRO as well. I am hoping to get it early August.

I contemplated doing that but thought, fuck it, I'll just get the Dongle for €20 extra. I get a free carriage case and a screen protector with it anyway so it seemed a good deal.
I do hope the exploit is going to work indefinitely. I also wonder if they'll keep updating the OS for free if you got the dongle.

Yes, that annoyed me too. Was shopping around the "EU resellers" and they all seemed so fishy with no terms of conditions or imprint, no contact details and just a template shop. Settled on elespiel.com (which had german text) but the order came from Hong Kong. Luckily it only took 12 days and not a month as they said.
Very happy with my purchase though!

I went with an UK one that truely ships from UK (Royal Mail). I also bought a Switch in a local store - quite heavy and smaller than I expected but it looks nicely built. I was tempted to buy Octopath since it was on sale for €60 in Limited Edition but I thought "Console LE's are so shit, why pay?" - you got like a PAPER map (not even a cloth one), some shitty cards and that's it.

Haven't got a switch yet, not so many games I want to play basically only nintendo games tho. When is nintendo shipping out new hardware revisions? I might wanna get one before they patched it out even tho I'll barely gonna use it..

And again it’s silly to wait to buy a Nintendo console, price is always the same.
I probably got it for less than some of you here and got it day 1.

He'll prolly say he doesn't want one because he wouldn't want to be banned since he is playing 24/7 online games on consoles, headshot needs to play Smash Bros online (j/k, he mostly buys SP games but still, I think he will be reassured to know that if one day he wanna play online, it's better to instabuy games )
Can't wait till he posts the "free games for Nintendo Plus sub" and say "amazing, we get a free mario bros 1 this month, instabuy instapay insta not pirate".
Shame on you headshot, you even had your X360 pirated (well at some point, then you instabought games for some weird reason).
PS : you can already have a free mario bros 1 this month by using a NES emu using homebrew
PS2 : the official emu by Nintendo will probably be pirated too, just like every game anyway.
PS3 : headshot wanna buy again Dark Souls Remastered. He already instabought Skyrim for Switch and has the cart in the closet in case he goes legit

Let's all mass PM headshot to tell him to buy a Switch now, really I'll be sad if he has to spend thousands of $ on games (come on headshot, you probably spent more than 1K on PS4 games alone).
Please be reasonable this time and listen to us ! Do not wait, there are once in a lifetime a console has such a fail on hardware, doubt you'll have another shot at it.
Hell even if there is another exploit one day, again you won't get it cheaper, EVER.

Yep, a full hardware side exploit that will let you keep up with newest firmwares, games, dlc and updates without nintendo ever being able to do anything about it?
This shit is fucking rare, there is no constant cat and mouse game here where you have to keep your cfw up to date to play the newest games and often risking a brick because you're not sure if the cfw is 100% safe, no, this shit here is fucking smooth sailing.

That being said unless they pull another New 3DS (basically a new Nintendo Switch with exclusive games for it that only this hardware can decrypt), IF one has a soft exploit for a firmware, we can decrypt any games and thus backport it for an older firmware because of the "old" Switch being pwned.
Still will be a PITA I guess...

They likely won't. Any new major games from Nintendo which we haven't heard about is likely yeears away. I'd never buy a new nintendo unless a zelda was on it's way. Well, unsure if a new zelda would a soul devoid piece of garbage like this one. I did finish it, but holy cow how i forced myself, as i'm a zelda fanatic.

I didn't mean a new console generation, I meant a "new nintendo switch", like the new 3DS which had like 3 exclusives (Xenoblade comes to my mind) and these were encrypted with specific keys that the original 3DS can't decrypt.
Have in mind though that the New 3DS is hella more powerful than the O3DS, kinda like when you compare a PS4 and PS4 Pro. I think I would spend the extra cash if it would mean slightly better looking / running Switch games, but only if it's hacked (which doesn't seem likely now).
Hell I think the New 3DS was worth it just to have the menu being smooth and not bloated as the O3DS.
Oh and I doubt that Nintendo would make a Zelda exclusive to a specific version of the Switch, most likely they'd downgrade it. Even nowadays New 3DS barely have any exclusives because of this.

So seems like they have another bootrom exploit in mind according to this post, won't say it's 100% sure though, although TX hardly disappointed in the past, sometimes they announce stuff (XBONE hack come to my mind) and nothing after years.

Hey guys, I'm just getting into setting up the Switch for my son but I've not been properly following the scene for quite a few weeks and it looks to have moved on quite a bit!
So just a couple of basic Q's.. got a SX Pro.. still a case of just dropping .xci's to the root of my SD?
What's the .nsp files that I keep seeing mentioned? I completely missed this!
Another game format that just drops to the root of the card?

xci are perfectly fine if you want to keep it easy and just drop them to the root of the sd card, nsps are basically files you use to install games on your sd card or internal drive, then you dont need to mount them like with xcis, apparently loading times are also a little bit better but not that much.
if you want to install nsps, you drop them to root and then install them via "install" option in sx os 1.4.

The data is there but seems pretty spread around because of how it's all changing quickly.
I'd say, just get a dongle. SX OS costs only slightly less and messing around with that joycon exploit doesn't seem very fun unless you have that little slider thingy you get with the SX Pro dongle. Also, the dongle works on the move without needing cables which saves you a LOT of hassle.

You don't even NEED an SX OS licence any more, you can do everything without paying.
SX OS is good though, so I bought it.

SX OS license, paperclip and USB-C cable from Switch to PC or cellphone (I use my cellphone since its faster).
You basically do the same as with the dongle, with these differences:
1. You use a paperclip to short the first and last pins of the side rack to enter recovery mode
2. You install NXloader on your cellphone and put the payload.bin file in it (from SX OS website), then connect your phone to your Switch to boot

But can you hack it without needing to hook it up to PC or android phone without the dongle? I stick with my opinion - $15 more and you got a jig and the dongle. Seems odd to not pay that tiny bit extra considering how easily it makes life.
