Enter the Gungeon is apparently getting some massive update and overhaul on thursday.
You should check out Hollow Knight and YS8, playing both of them atm and switching forth and back. Both are great games.

Gungeon has earned a purchase from the 10 min I played.
Great replay value along with great controls.
Found a stockpile of nsp titles.
Might replace my xci collection.

Now I got stuck on Golf Story, fucking addictive game.

Here in Germany we still have Prime Day for another 10 hrs.
Not sure how long this still runs in the US or for whatever country you are in but there are cheap 200GB and 400GB Micro SD's to be had.
I ordered both of those:

Nice, FreeshopNX was released, will wait a bit till it's tested properly though. basically this is supposed to work like the 3DS one where you can download and install games straight from your switch.

Looks interesting! Going to try this out in a bit.
Though, I pretty much DL everything there is thus far and I'm hard at work trying to sort all the crap out. In the long run, this sure would be nice for convenient DL of 0day releases.
Probably won't be long until the shop is patched?! (Don't know how it was on the 3DS...)

Guys get Taiko no Tatsujin, only jp version out now, with an English update coming soon.
It's a drumming rhythm game that you can use the joycons as drums for, was just released 2 days ago.
The game is really fun and addictive.

I was tempted to buy a Switch due to the hardware change soon that will patch the exploit. But then I saw it's still €300, it still hasn't got a games bundle, it still has the same screen scratch dock issues, Nintendo is acting as if the cracks due to heat is user error meaning they can't be bothered to fix it AND don't give warranty for it and its games library is a joke. Basically: fuck Nintendo, their system isn't even worth buying even if I can pirate the hell out of their games.
A rough estimate of 85% (older) releases from other systems, 5% exclusives and 10% Wii U ports. The 5% exclusives are not even that special. Mario Odyssee is the only one worth playing from the look of it.

For me Xenoblade Chronicles 2 alone was worth the purchase, spent so many hours on that game, let alone getting the other games as a bonus.

Blast you, I forgot about XC2 <.< I bought my PS4 for Persona 5 and I hacked my Wii U for Xenoblade Chronicles (second hand copies were expensive as hell). Now you're making me want to buy one after all.

Yea about LA Noire, does it have any specific IR functionalities?
Another difference is that ReiNX can use IR functionality in games, which didn't work with SXOS before.

IMO it has the most satisfying combat system of all JRPGs, it just never gets boring once you unlocked all the mechanics, which does take around 10 hrs give or take.

Yep but it seems Devmenu cannot install NSP with it because of some missing patches but you can use Tinfoil/FreeshopNX to install games directly from Nintendo (basically NSP).
Problem is Tinfoil/FreeshopNX doesn't support updates/DLC packages install YET.
That being said you can always install DLC from SXOS (and updates directly from nintendo anyway), not a big of a deal.
But for people without SXOS for now no way to install pirated DLC, but I'm sure it's just a matter of days now.
Kinda rendering SXOS already useless because I don't care much about XCI loading now, most games are on eShop anyway (I think only Nintendo Labo and Skylanders which need physical stuff are not).
BTW games that failed with SXOS (LA Noire) work with ReiNX. Probably one of the SXOS patch that has side effects. |
And there is a Hekate version now, with sigpatches like ReiNX without SXOS, but also Freeshop, ftp and tinfoil + devmenu based on hulu nsp.

A great RPG has made me buy too many consoles ... PS Vita (Persona 4 Golden), PS4 (Persona 5), Wii U (hacked Wii Xenoblade), etc. I hacked my Vita yesterday just so I'd be able to play more RPGs - the Vita has quite a few.
It's odd considering the 3DS has a lack of good RPGs. I think it's because the Vita is actually still popular in Japan. It's also a lot more capable than the 3DS which is not only weaker, it's also not quite as pleasant to use with the top heavy screen and the less responsive touch controls.

Reading the comments really is *facepalm*ing to the highest degree. Someone who says they hacked their Switch so they could use it as an ebook reader and so on got tons of abusive comments. I guess we discovered what kind of people still visit trash like Gizmodo ... cunts and dickheads.

"God fucking forbid you get what the company designed it for. Go buy a fucking PC if you want that much customization." (yes because you lug a PC the size of the Switch around by default *pacepalms*)

SX OS 1.4 Out
Integrated NSP installer
With our last update we introduced the possibility of installing eShop NSP titles. However, this relied on using external tools and wasn't very user friendly. In this release we bring our own integrated NSP installer as part of our menu system. This is the neatest and easiest way of installing NSP titles, enjoy!
Integrated homebrew launcher
Launching homebrew used to be done by launching NX HBMenu by holding R when entering the album. While we kept this possibility (mostly for developers), you can now also launch your favorite homebrew directly from our own menu!
IR / motion plus issue fixed
A few games (like 1-2-Switch and Resident Evil) were suffering from freezes when enabling the joycon IR camera or motion controls.
Allow unsigned NCA
People asked us if we could get rid of the NCA integrity checks, so we did! Custom NCA files, modified NCA files and repackaged NCA files should all work fine now.
Display SX OS version in menu
To better distinguish the different versions of SX OS we introduced a small version number display in our menu.
LayeredFS fixes for 4.1.0
There were certain issues with 'LayeredFS' for people on firmware 4.1.0. If you use 'LayeredFS' on that specific firmware there's good news for you: these issues have been identified and fixed!

You are either using a non banned cert or using your own then. The original one that was floating around got banned, probably the new one will be banned too if you are using it anyway.
About SX OS 1.4 : nice but with the sig patch being public and freeshopNX i think these new stuff are not that amazing... But won't complain now it's on par.
