Six weeks after exiting his showrunner gig on Starz’s American Godz, Bryan Fuller is back in the genre game. The veteran writer-producer has boarded The Vampire Chronicles, an adaptation of Anne Rice’s novels from Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.
Par TV and Anonymous optioned the elder Rice’s popular 11-book series back in April, with plans to bring it to the small screen. Christopher Rice will write the series and serve as executive producer alongside Anne Rice and Anonymous Content’s David Kanter and Steve Golin.
I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
The books were fantastic, Anne Rice surely knew how to make vampire lore really atmospheric. The movies were mostly a disappointment (Interview was decent, but Queen of the Damned )
Beware though, if pansexuality bothers you, you're gonna probably hate it

While there were almost no French nobles in Nouvelle-Orléans at the time, there were a lot of Créoles/mixed-race people of various social standings and status.
Read a lot of Anne Rice in the early 2000 or so.. the books starts out really, really great, but the longer you get into the series the more it becomes Erotica / BDSM / LGBT novels (before it was trendy). It deteriorates into complete trash/pulp.
Hmm I guess you are right.. but I don't like it.. There was no reason to change it.
I agree, why change what the author wrote? It means and reflects things of it's own.
I agree fully. The source material is to be respected. And I can see how it's, and rightfully so, being seen as useless/meaningless pandering.
The guy seems like a great actor, though.
I enjoyed the first couple of vampire books but my fave Anne Rice book is The Mummy (aka Ramses the Damned). Very very interesting and different story.

I loved it. It was essentially a romance novel with some supernatural elements..
Anne's books were great until she became a Christian. Then it all went to shit.
At least she decided to ditch Christianity in the end.
As for the trailer of this new series... I guess they decided to make certain things quite apparent whereas in the books it was all subtle (Lestat+Luois relationship)
OK...I'm a fan of the film and the novels and I was very skeptical about his show.. but I gotta say the first episode (mostly the second half of it and the ending) managed to be fairly respectful of the spirit of the source material despite all the changes they've made.
I dunno whether the rest of the episodes will be good, but the pilot sold it for me..I'll keep watching.
i have no affiliation w the books but loved the original movie...
...this however, is like Brokeback Mountain Vampire Edition. I mean i don't have any problems with open homosexuality in media but 3 eps in this is more like a gay romance in a vampire setting than anything the original movie was.
