Another good Marvel movie that is just fun to watch. It doesn't take itself seriously and it makes it better.

I think I agree with you. It was a decent watch.

I actually giggled in a couple moments, like when the three beasts wreak havok just when they arrive at the city. Pure fun Very Happy and definitely better than expected in the entertainment side.

Disobedience (201)

6.5-/10

Disappointing. Even Rachel Weisz can't save this film. The script is just bad and I lost count how any times characters made mmm hmmm sounds.it was just ridiculous. There was no chemistry between Weiz and mcAdams (not their fault, the script sucks). A bit similar flm Ha-Sodot (2007) was definitely better.

Baby Driver - 5/10 - I did not like it.
Kong - 4/10 - started out good but became too ridiculous. I didn't like Jackson at all in this movie. Every single character was cliche.
Ready Player One - 7.5/10 - big fun until the last 30 minutes.

7.5+/10

A pretty atmospheric Canadian zombie flick. Great cinematography, nice soundtrack and characters. If you are tired of all these US zombie films that look the same and feel the same, and u want to watch an artsy movie about zombies then give this one a try.

Isle of Dogs 7/10

I don't think it's as good or as charming as Fantastic Mr Fox, but it's very well made, obviously.
The story is quite complex, making it a movie solely for adults. Nothing wrong with that, of course.

But for me, it's too political, and not all political messages are very subtle, to say the least. It annoyed me, but maybe because I entered the movie expecting something more like Mr Fox.

But also because the movie takes place in Japan, but was made by an American. The fucking arrogance to make a movie about a dictatorship, but having it take place in a foreign country. Rolling Eyes I don't see any reason why the same story couldn't have taken place in the USA. Especially with the current president.
In my eyes, it shows the lack of courage of Wes Anderson to go truly all the way in getting his message across. Pretty disappointing. Someone like Aaron Sorkin at least has the balls to say what he wants to say, whatever what you may think of it.

That a white American character ultimately saves the day also completely undermines (and contradicts) the progressive message it tries to make, which I found more ironic than anything else. Very Happy

James McAvoy was brilliant. The first half of the film was the best then it got kinda worse but it was still a great film.

This is a "it's the journey, not the goal" kind of movie. Quite boring for the subject matter.

Isle of Dogs - 7/10

A peculiar-looking movie with Wes' signature style and niftly edited Japanese art. The dogs are animated in such a hilariously creepy way, but the scruffy appearance is only a facade derived from hostile circumstances, they're good boys. The story itself works as well, though I found it less memorable than I expected and a tad on the predictable side with stereotypes and linear development (I agree with Il_Padrino, I too found the classic Fantastic Mr. Fox superior Razz). Still, worth a watch for the creative imagery and feelgood moments.

Retarded but Johnson makes it watchable. Effects were terrible. You'd think in 2018 they'd be able to render a monkey whose fur is lit correctly to the environment. Or correctly tone map for HDR Laughing Laughing

Fuck this movie. Title was probably what the writer thought: "How it ends?" because there was no ending. Mad Razz

Cheers.

PS I watched the second film

However, I haven't even heard about the first one. I got Eng subtitles and found German BluRay rip (double audio). Wink I'll give it a try when I come back to the city - I can't download large files on my mobile internet coz my bandwidth is pretty limited ;\

The Incredibles 2 - 5/10
Boring story and what worse super predictable which make it even more boring. Overall too long, shitty script and everybody was fucking screaming alll the time. No one was talking ever, except maybe one character, everyone else was fucking on cocain screaming or being super excited.

It lacked that charm of the first part...

Molly's Game - 7,5/10

Well-crafted and surprisingly engaging, Sorkin did a fine job when it comes to putting everything together with a fantastic (and stunning) Jessica Chastain running the show. I don't even like poker but the movie never really annoyed or alienated me since the focus is on the character(s) instead, the script is concise and picking the ol' Idris and Kevin as supporting roles is always a good idea. There are some minor hiccups here and there due to the severe gambling addiction, nothing serious though.

Ready Player One - 4/10

Sadly, nothing here worth mentioning. The film has two strong points: visual side and fun cultural references. The rest is a boring mess.

Hereditary - 2/10

Oh god. What a shitty movie. It has a really high score on IMDB and got praised on some site, so my GF thought it's a good horror flick. It's not. It really isn't, I can't stress that enough. Do. Not. Waste. Your. Time. The movie starts quite well, there's some mystery and stuff generally progresses as you'd expect, but there's enough tension to give hope. But then it completely drops the ball and starts getting really bonkers and, sadly, also boring and ridiculous. And not in the Cabin in the Woods "what an idea" kind of way, more like "what a B-movie shit" kind of way. The big twist is telegraphed an hour before it's revealed and the way it's all stitched together is just silly, not to mention not very logical. Near the end most of the people in the cinema were laughing really hard, which probably isn't what should happen during an horror screening.

Loved it. It’s one of these movies i kept thinking about when I left the cinema. It’s slow though, sometimes very slow so keep that in mind. Do. Waste. Your. Time. if you’re into such movies Smile

Just watched RoboCop.1987.US.Remastered.Directors.Cut.1080p.BluRay.x264

It has aged very well IMO, the effects look good, the action sequences are brutal, the story is a great one, combining sci-fi and maybe cyberpunk. The acting of some characters is a bit "80s", I don't know why many actors back then were so fucking corny, this is a serious film, not a teen drama TV series, weird. The protagonist and the villains were good, some others, not so much, for example the female cop and some support characters, bleh.

8.5/10 for me, I will probably watch the sequel soon
