i find it a little bit meh, was ok the first island but the levels start to repeat themselves and many times its hit and miss when jumping or trying to hit something, because of the camera angle or being too close sometimes its hard to know exactly where your feet lands.
for those who like coin farm platformers i think its good, but i prefer puzzle platformers like ori and the blind forest, unravel, inside etc, maybe i would have like it more if i was playing it when the original was released.
The game is buggy and I only get 50ish FPS no matter the settings (tried lowest possible, with the exception of the resolution). Such a shame I can't play my favorite platformer until they fix it

I grabbed the trusty CorePack version, it's only ~4 GB (doesn't even take too long to install). These modern magical repacking jobs are often my lifesavers
As for the game itself, both the visuals and animations are nicely done, it definitely is a proper remastering job and not one of our usual lazy attempts (everything is fine for me technically speaking). I have to agree with Stefan though regarding the gameplay, while it works well for what it is and jumping 'n twisting around is fun, the formula iself feels a bit too constrained/simplistic for my tastes (I prefer having at least some basic exploration and less of an on-rails structure). Still, I'm glad to see such exclusives coming to PC, hope more will follow in the future.
Ok, I've just installed it and done a couple of levels and...
Holy shit, those animations! It's awesome! That is what a remaster should look like (<lol>Skyrim SE</lol>)
And apparently the game sells really well in the UK and is popular on the Switch and XBox One, so... fingers crossed for a Crash Team Racing remake just like this one
I had CTR on the PS1. It was the game that almost destroyed my console. I remember it was rather...challenging. At one point I got so frustrated I hit the Playstation with my fist while it was running and the disc broke into 3 pieces The console survived and I glued the disc back together and it still worked surprisingly and I ultimately managed to finish the game 100%

I'm way better at games now than when I was a kid or teenager. Breezed through the N Sane Trilogy like it was nothing, all 100%+.
Ok, the first day it was kinda frustrating, getting used to the controls, game mechanics, jump distances, hitboxes etc. Lots of dying. But I just have to sleep once, it imprints the patters in the brain or so because the second day I'm always significantly better at games.
Also in this case the first Crash game is noticeably harder than the two sequels. So you kinda start at the highest difficulty. The sequels have much more ways to control Crash and slightly wider level corridors, which makes things easier.
The leaker is EXTREMELY reliable in the movie industry.
