Wave Your hand in front of Your stupid faces. You can see the motion and the hand does not look sharp the whole motion through(except if Your fat hands are slow then do the bendy pencil trick - it's motion blur!).

Do the same while tracking your hand accurately and you'll have no motion blur whatsoever. Games have to assume a view point, which if wrong, produces nonsense.

The only time I liked depth of field was in Crysis while looking down the iron sight, because the assumption of view point was met, at least more often.

If You do this when tracking, then the background blurs Very Happy
To say the truth, one of best feeling and looking games when I had 240hz monitor was Enter the Gungeon. This game feels and looks so much better at 240fps.. ok there is no denying - very high framerate is awesome. It's just a shame horsepower needed for that is enormous and that those monitors look like pile of dog shit and it's not even a fault of being TN panel. The low gamma, backlight bleeding, clouding and all just result in washed out image which is limited to 1080p for now.
So as long as we are playing games at 60fps or lower(either because of monitors or high game requirements), the benefit of good per object motion blur like in Doom is there.

Ideally there should be an option for world and object motion blur separately in each game so even toni would be happy.

This is pretty neat. I would compare games with no motion blur to fast shutter speeds

Yes. But games cannot realibly make the correct choice.

I wanna see eye tracking based blurring now. Thx. Another thing on my wishlist of things that will never get fullfilled Laughing

Because fast shutter speeds approach exactly what your video bff told you video games natively are, snapshots of instants.

MMMMmmmm motion blur.

I think the best comparison of how a game looks/runs with and without it is GTA4

MB isn't built into the settings, but you can do it via shader and it make a HUGE difference....
