Hereditary 8.5/10
Really loved it. It took quite some time for the story to actually move along but I like this kind of non-jumpscare horror! Some scenes had me on the edge of my seat for a couple of minutes.

Great acting by everybody involved! (Toni get Oscar plx)

Mindless action
The rock looked cg in some parts
Also a lot of cg looked cheap
It had charm and made you feel at times for the cg characters.

Ready Player One 8/10 mildly entertaining family sci-fi romp that one should not take too serious.

The Night Eats the World.( 2018)

7/10

It was a pretty enjoyable zombie flick. However, if it wasn't for a certain twist I would rate it lower. It's nothing like most zombie films and it reminded me of I am Legend, but it's less actiony and more art-housy Laughing

Escape Plan 2: Hades

I don't know why they decided to release it to cinemas outside of US. Should have been a worldwide STV production.
I sort of knew what to expect but I wasn't ready for this. It's a rotten mix of 80's action with some neo-futurepunk mixed with present-days design.
Very bad acting but somewhat nice music score. CGI is bad of course.
The actors... I have no idea why they used Stallone and Bautista on the cover and promotional art. They have almost least screen time. I understand that it was decided so they could draw attention but on the other hand they let the audience down.

After the credits rolled, I was ... empty. Even my minor hangover was gone. So I guess it's good then?

Enjoyable enough but stuff like that has kinda become standard fare in the current times.. so just not very memorable I guess Very Happy Rampage was clearly the worse movie overall...but I agree with Waldo it had some charm.

Rampage - 4.5/10

Plain boring. It would be 5/10 if not that stupid last scene with the gorilla. And yet again a movie with The Rock flying a chopper. It's a trend now.

Ready Player One: Season Pass (includes 3 keys, a lootegg and 25 cents worth of skins) - 5.9/10

I appreciated the attempt, like some sort of fancy triple-A Hollytrip sponsored by memberberries dot com in modern sauce, as well as Spielberg's veteran hand in the hectic non-stop CGI action fest. The execution though felt progressively more tiresome than entertaining for me, too oomphy for its own good, with occasional corny juvenile moments, general lack of logic even for the imaginary Oculusian context and a lick of awkward how do you do fellow kids effect.

The memberberries in Ready Player One seemed soo forced and campy, like they were going through every nerd and 80's cliché on a checklist. Appeasement? As if we wouldn't notice, it's just part of another well-oiled marketing machinery, all they want to make is more money.
Being somewhat entertaining and visually appealing for a blockbuster movie it's just not good enough anymore nowadays. There are dozens like that out now. CGI effects also appear to be stuck on a relatively high level but not really evolving anymore. I'm losing count of all the movies I had to rate 7-something. Yes they're all competent and big and safe but they all lack that special something.

Blockers 4,5/10
Simple premise, but more cringy than funny, checked a lot of political correctness boxes too.

Ready Player One 6,5/10
It was enjoyable enough and it looked quite good. Some stupid inconsistencies in the plot though and too much pandering.

Rampage 5/10
Uuh, brainless action with impressive cgi I guess. "Oh look the gorilla killed bunch of people, but it's good now so let's ignore the thing."

Set it up 6/10
Romantic comedy that follows the basic formula, but Zoey Deutch earns 1 point. Smile
