That is what happens when they give the game out for free. Games always spike when they are free and even moreso if they have card drops, just look at Fortified from a few weeks back.
I "bought" it (read: paid €19 to unlock all the characters) since I've been in the mood for a simple deathmatch game. However, part of me wish I hadn't. The maps are tiny, there's a ridiculous shortage of play modes (no CTF??), and the game really focuses far too much on the useless loot crates - far more so than, say, CS GO.
The game also deceives you - the first X games you play against bots. The game doesn't tell you this so new comers may think "wow, I kick ass at this game! I better invest money in this!" only to get their ass handed to them once they get past the first few games and the game suddenly throws them in with proper players.
Yeah I noticed sacrifice but because it's hidden away, you won't find many games and the players will probably be above my skill level.
It's still a fun game and €19 for basically the full game ... well I can't complain about that. The game is polished, runs very fast and smooth, has the fast action I'm used of the old Q III Arena (which also severely lacked play modes compared to Unreal Tournament which, to me, was always superior for regular gamers).
They really need to add more play modes, though. The basics are there - good art style, good balanced weapons, enjoyable maps - now make some CTF maps and add some other modes.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
