Is there a way of searching and downloading game updates. I have used Playstation 4 Package Finder, but that seems to just display the latest update only and not older versions.
Obviously game updates that require above 4.55 are a no go.

Yeah I've checked there. I'm guessing if the update isn't listed with the game, then the chances are there isn't a game update for 4.55 and below.
For instance Lego Worlds is listed as base game V1.00 with no updates. But there has been quiet a few updates and i wanted to see what updates there has been and firmware required for the updates.

for fpkgs you need updates build for them by someone who owns the original disc, the official ones from sony dont work. and its better to use the original released version as fkpg of the game and then apply an update for that (if you use pre patched complete packages the system always shows version 1.00 and you cant apply any other updates at all)

as you need to be logged in into psn to get the key which is needed for that feature it doenst work. psn is always used as auth between console and remote device, hence no remote play without active internet and psn connection. in conclusion: it doenst work with hacked consoles. maybe sometime in the future there might be a homebrew solution, but i wouldnt count on it

Not going to link but apparently method to run 4.70+ games is out and works on 4.55-.
Neeed for speed payback rls is out..

Hmmm ? I only see a dump of NFS Payback but no "method" to run other 4.70 games so far.
Oh also GoW is a 5.05 game BTW.

was expected since somebody dumped yesterday a +4.70 game to be played on 4.55, most likely from this one
god of war working on 5.05 is even more great news but i think this will pe be the last hacked firmware for a long time since nobody has a more recent kernel exploit and 5.05 was known months ago

I think the newest update requires higher fw. I had skipped updating the latest fw and was playing god of war, but after a update it refused to launch until i was on the øatest ps4 fw

It was bound to happen, as I said eariler this year.
These kind of FW game lock doesn't last long.
It was true for PS3/Vita scene and now its happening here.

Maybe future games won't work, for a while,If there isn't a way to play 5.06+ games..
But you are still getting the rest for free(excluding online only of course).
If I was you, I would already get second PS4(everyone comes with stock 5.05-- for now now), If I want to have the ability to play online as well.
All games will eventually work on older FW/hacked PS4, just need a little patience.

GoW 1.00 is 5.05
1.01 till 1.05 are 5.50
1.06+ are 5.53
