PS

Performance is great on my PC

http://imgur.com/a/Hg1K7

That's 1920x1200 all maxed out, motion blur disabled(I don't like this effect in games)

If I enable power saving feature via amd control panel and set vsync on, my GPU is able to maintain 60 fps working at really low clocks(600-750)

Not a bad little game but it definitely feels like a first effort. I think if they get the chance to make a sequel and improve on everything it could be great.

I really like it so far. Reminds me of Mark Of The Ninja.

I just tried the yarr for some time, the game indeed is fun, with its Dishonored-like teleporting and shadows management (I like that you can actually "create" 'em to improvise, along with all the other unlockable powers Very Happy).

However, it suffers from some problems in my opinion. There is no option to pick up bodies (a deadly sin in a pure stealth game Crying or Very sad), and the AI uses the ol' on/off switcheroo when it comes to the panthering detection, which makes it quite silly and the game itself not having a proper lighting system doesn't help. The engine also feels limited in terms of animations and effects, just like the last Unity-based stealth game that I played (Clandestine). One can hope that future iterations of such technology can implement proper dynamic animations, but what do we know.
Still, not bad by any means, it's a rough gem and more stealth is always welcome^^

Nice! I would have preferred the standard method from the start, but that will do I guess. Very Happy

I thought this game was really good until I reached the first boss. What a ridiculous and poorly balanced encounter.. Rage

PS I killed the fucker..Disappointed. If next boss fights are gonna be like this one..oh well..

PS The first stage of the second boss fight.. another ridiculously made rage quitting boss encounter.

Thankfully the second and the third stages are fine.

PPS

My steam mini-review of the game

Quote:
Well, ladies and gents, it's a very good game albeit not without some flaws.

Basically it's Mark of The Ninja 3D.

If you prefer to rush forward swinging your sword left and right this game is not for you.
Actually, if enemies see you long enough to aggro and you haven't disappeared, killed\blinded (or whatever) them then you are dead.
The same applies to mobs. We live and fight by the take no prisoners motto. There is no fighting involved, just executions using our trusted sword and magical abilities.

+ satisfying stealth
+ amazing music
+ nice and useful abilities
+ good voice over
+ fairly good story with a twist
+ graphics is pretty simple but the art style is great
+ performance ranges from very good to mediocre(sometimes), mostly good.
+ the pricing is reasonable

- the first boss encounter (Besides the boss who is tracking you constantly it has a very limited area\hostile mobs around\flying light orbs\no checkpoints\ and it's not that clear what we are supposed to do at some point)
- enemies variety is limited
- just a few abilities
- too many "disable The Barrier Of Light" objectives
-limited movement\combat

I finished it in ~ 15+ hours but I'm a slowpoke when it comes to playing games.

7.5+/10

Aragami Patch 01.03b

Quote:

Hi everyone!

Just a quick announcement for our 01.03b hotfix.

Here's the changelog for Patch 01.03b:
* NEW: Added cross-region friend invites for online multiplayer.
* FIX: Fixed bug whereby Hikaru would freeze in the 2nd phase of the boss fight.
* FIX: Fixed bug whereby camera would not recenter after respawning.

Plans for 01.04:
* Improve general game performance.
* Add in-game interactions to co-op mode.
* Squash nasty bugs!

PS I watched several youtube reviews, and some of them , like
ACG's
 Spoiler:

say the game has got performance issues.

Tbh I didn't have any major issues worth mentioning. I saw performance taking a hit when you look at light sources but it wasn't that bad. I've just recorded a short performance test video in The Shadow Woods area (trees+ light torches, the main performance hit culprits)
That's @ 1920x1080, all maxed out except motion blur OFF (I don't like this effect in games). The game is installed on a storage WD HDD (green series), not SSD

ver 10.4b

(I got all abilities and most if not all upgrades, it's a mid-game level)

I have to say this game runs great compared to other 3D unity games I played. Sure, there is still room for improvement but all in all the game is not as bad performance-wise as some reviewers claim.

However, I think the devs need to update the system requirements on the store page to reflect the reality. + They are really vague tbh.

After a few weeks of silence we bring you a pretty big update. The Community Update and the Assassin Masks DLC.

The Assassin Masks DLC makes our favorite assassin much more stylish, with 12 new character skins usable in both single and multiplayer games!

These free skins can be unlocked by obtaining chapter medals and completing the game in the different available difficulties. New difficulties? OH YEAH! We heard you, and that's what our Community Update is about.

We've revamped some frustrating stuff in Aragami, like Sora's auto-aim, missing checkpoints and 'diffuse' objectives. We also redesigned the chapter stats and score systems, and the ranks now go from E to S.

There's some new 'easy' and 'hard' difficulties. Harder difficulties feature faster and more perceptive enemies, with new patrol routes for the ultimate challenge.

Some new optimizations have been added which will bump up performance on multi-threaded CPUs.

Here are the full patch notes for 1.06a:
* NEW: New SKINS menu lets you customize Aragami with new clothes and assassin masks.
* NEW: Added 3 difficulty modes and redefined default difficulty.
* NEW: Redesigned the Ranking and Score systems.
* MISC: Removed Sora automatically finding Aragami.
* MISC: Improved performance on some chapters by enabling experimental graphic optimizations.
* MISC: Hikaru's vision range is now progressive.
* MISC: Enemy vision range in ALERT is now progressive once they've lost the player.
* MISC: Increased Shadow Range intensity.
* MISC: Added new checkpoint on Chapter 12.
* MISC: Moved the default save location and fixed Steam Cloud sync. Your saves should copy to the new location automatically. New locations are as follow:
** Windows: %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Lince Works/Aragami/
** OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Lince Works/Aragami/
** Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Lince Works/Aragami
* FIX: Reduced explosive light lethal radius.
* FIX: Red bushes now cover against archers.
* FIX: Sound should not travel to other 'rooms' now.
* FIX: Modified the scarf physics so that it doesn't get stuck with the sword (so much).
* FIX: Killing the last enemy in a zone will now end the area alert.
* FIX: Multiplayer - Invisible warriors in Chapter 7 cinematic.
* FIX: Multiplayer - Minor fixes
* Plenty of other fixes.
