Hm, during the Kingdom Management tutorial they mentioned you can also open it from the main menu. But i don't see it anywhere?
I don't want to travel back to it everytime when for example i want to collect money.

Oh and i guess it's not possible to make dialogues advance automatically, without having to press a key every time? Embarassed

That's not what it said. They said you could see how many KGs you have from the main menu. Being able to collect KG and materials from outside Evermore would make an already easy game trivial.

I don't understand what you mean exactly. Do you mean I can mark items in my inventory and sell them with one button?

Sorry. Yeah, something like that. But that works only when you are talking to a vendor.

Sell window -> mark all the items you want to sell -> one button to sell it. It's more like bulk sell but better than selling 1 by 1.

Think so, yeah. Had to press a key every time.

@IamAWESOME: thanks for the info, I can't believe I didn't notice that option

I just got to building my kingdom, I really like this game. It's nothing like the first game, so that's a bit weird, but I am really enjoying it. What I really dislike is the amount of monsters on the map and the re-spawn rate, it's just excessive.

Once you level up a bit (think about +5 above area level?), the monsters around you won't attack unless you attack them first. This allows you to move freely without fighting. Smile

The respawning in this game is a lot less than it was in NNK1. I also haven't found that the number of monsters on the map is that much different than in the first game, though it does feel like it's a bit more than in the first game.

If you are like me and still get annoyed by the mouse acceleration during camera movement:

Increase your mouse DPI to a much higher value. I changed it to 6.000.
Then ingame lower camera and menu speed till it feels good again.

Since i have a Logitech mouse, i can make a seperate profile just for this game with those high DPI.
Ingame the menu controls are still sluggish. But at least no more deadzone when moving the camera slowly.

This game won't win any prizes and doesn't do anything amazing, it's pretty much a typical jRPG, but everything is presented in a great way. I really like the art style and the mechanics. It has a good amount of depth without it being overly complex just for the lulz (some jRPGs do that). Combat is simple, but it has enough variety. I don't think the game is easy, you just get too much help. Higglethingies helping and your little yellow dude dropping orbs all over the place makes things easy. I don't mind much though, the bosses are very well done.
At this point, after 8 hours, I'd rate this on the same level as the first game. Very different games, but both great.

Men, all of the story boss battles up until chapter 5 so far are jokes. Sad
They barely take longer than fighting against same leveled trash mobs.

I mean you could use the CE mod i posted about bevore, i settled with:

GodMode:
dq 0
OneHitKill:
dq 0
fEnemyDamageMult:
dq (float)0.65
fEnemyHealingMult:
dq (float)0
fHeroDamageMult:
dq (float)1.5
fHeroHealingMult:
dq (float)0
HeroCannotDie:
dq 0

which is pretty much normal mode for me, i mostly disable it for the actual challenging content and also the game does get harder chapter 6+ to the point that this isn't even really needed anymore but it's good until then.

Meh, not really a fan of those CE tables to adjust difficulty.

It was the same back then with Kingdoms of Amalur. Though even with the adjustments it felt too easy after you grinded a bit. It was the reason i uninstalled it after some hours of playing.

I guess that's the curse of open-world games where you are able to overlevel by too much.

It's definitely a bit too easy even for a JRPG, i remember a lot of ppl complained about the difficulty in the first game where you had to grind a lot to get your pets lvl up for the story, it wasn't really difficult just tedious but i guess they overcompensated a bit in this one.

Maybe it's because I try to run pass monsters as much as possible, so I am rarely over-leveled for mobs, but I find the fights easy yet not too easy. I'm also playing Persona 5 on and off, that one is also easy IMO. I don't remember ever playing a difficult jRPG really.

Oh, don't worry, it gets harder after chapter 6 and you will be grinding a bit. If you plan to do everything, you will grind even more for high rated tainted monsters and last dream door.

After the story and all 175 side quests, you will be around 60-70 level. That should allow you to clear all 50 tainted monsters. However, after that, 10 more will unlock who pretty much 1-2 shot kill you as they are up to level 90.

This applies to last dream door too. And if you find dream doors (1-9) easy, just wait few minutes and let the danger meter rise. Wink

The story boss fights are easy. But if you want, you can always fight them at increasing difficulty (+5 level every try) after you research Retrial Spell.

JRPG games are fairly easy most of the time. And, this is also teen rated. It fits well with the audience.

SMT Nocturne or Digital Devil saga.
Apart from that yeah the genre isn't exactly known for hard games.

Nice game overall, though the story felt a bit too soft.

7.6/10

i tend to agree.. enjoyable game overall albeit flawed, especially:

- the protagonist: simply annoying and not as charming as the designers probably thought he'd be
- the whole japanese melodramatic tone was overdone
- the story was kind of... well.. unoriginal
- the UI was cumbersome
- some gameplay elements were just unnecessarily tedious
- no wholesale voiceovers AND a text size for ANTS...
- the kingdom builder, while highly addictive it didn't really add much to the gameplay as i mostly found better gear by just playing the game

Eh the protagonist was OK I suppose for a expy of a certain other president..oh you meant his cat. Razz
(Aka sit on bench boy until story mandates you be the only playable person in the party.)

Heard the first game was better in this regard though it seems Level-5 is well known for their sub-par stories even if the games have decent gameplay mechanics and such.

Not a fan of the text size either as pointed out or the fast scrolling during the skirmish bits.

And the kingdom turns into a little bit of a grind and mostly to generate resources and funding once the main research projects are done with.
(All you motherfuckers wanna play fetch? All 100? I'm the fucking king damn it, now move to city or be peacefully integrated by way of lethal force.)

EDIT: Seriously every single citizen is like "Oh I really want to move to your kingdom...but I want these things first, you go get yes?"
(Swearing is a wee bit over the top perhaps but it's kinda warranted after doing escort fetch services and questing for RNG item #999 dozens of times heh.)

Did any jRPG have proper SQs? As much as I enjoy jRPGs, the jap devs really need to innovate.

I agree with Bob on the score, the first was better IMO.

I actually found the UI easy to navigate via mouse, once i got used to it.
The missing voice overs didn't really bother me as much as i thought.
Evan was alright. But i feld like Roland was the maincharacter for me, and i liked him more.

@JBeckman @Mister_s
Yeah most sidequests where basically just fetch that, or kill that.
Stopped reading the dialogues for them at some point.
Though since i have an OCD to complete stuff like that, i accepted them nonetheless and finishd them. grinhurt

played w gamepad on the TV and i felt the menus could've been way more intuitive (i.e. less submenus for individual actions).. that's also why the missing voice bothered me bc even on a 55" tv the texts were barely readable from a distance.

when it comes to Evan, my biggest issue with him was just how fucking dull he was... there was literally nothing interesting about his cardboard character to me. his whole demeanor also didnt really fit that of a fucking king imo^^

i wholeheartedly agree with the sidequests -- at some point it boiled down to a pokemon "gotta catch 'em all" frenzy for me -- until i realized i've been wasting my time all along with these tedious fetch quests Very Happy

Nier Automata for example didnt get a sale very single time (summer winter sale etc)they mostly tried to give a discount on daily deals outside of sales. Might be the same here
