The coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids, is turned upside down when a mysterious young woman (Eline Powell) appears and begins wreaking havoc upon the small fishing town. Marine biologists Ben (Alex Roe) and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) work together to find out who and what drove this primal hunter of the deep sea to land, and are there more like her out there?

Really like it after 3 eps out of 10.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
At least when there are practically no reviews\votes.
I'd give it 7\7.5- so far...and most of it for Eline Powell and for the return to the origins of mermaids mythology (predators). They nailed it when they cast Eline as a mermaid. She looks like she doesn't belong to this world lol.
The writing, as usual, is the weakest part of the show and the military parts are kinda bad
but I still enjoyed these 3 episodes for mostly these two reasons I stated above.
I wish it had better writing, better acting and that it was "darker". It has this CW show feel to it, if you get my meaning.
The second season is better than the first one, especially towards the end. I didn't expect the writers to play THAT dirty though, lol.. I'm talking about the reveal in the last episode. It felt kinda cheap.
PS
They should have reduced the number of episodes to 10-12 though..
Really? I should watch it, then. Season 1 had some interesting parts but overall I lost my interest, not much was happening after the initial mystery of the mermaid, I think I watched all of it, though. I will double check and then go for S02.
It's not much better though (they really should have made the season shorter) so,I'd say you could give it a try if you have nothing else to watch
I just was in the mood for sirens, so I binge-watched it all fast-forwarding some filler stuff
And I'm l kinda pissed off about the last episode. They had such a great opportunity to move the show's plot into a different and much more interesting direction, but they didn't have the balls. What's worse they showed us how the story could radically evolve and then
