AMC has greenlit a new scripted anthology series, “The Terror,” based on the bestselling novel by Dan Simmons, Variety has learned.
Written by David Kajganich (“True Story,” “A Bigger Splash”), the series is set in 1847, when a Royal Naval expedition crew searching for the Northwest Passage is attacked by a mysterious predator that stalks the ships and their crew in a suspenseful and desperate game of survival. AMC has ordered 10 hourlong episodes for premiere in 2017.
The series hails from Scott Free, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360 in association with AMC Studios.
Kajganich will serve as co-showrunner with Soo Hugh (“The Whispers,” “The Killing”). Executive producers are Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker of Scott Free, Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert, both principals at Emjag Productions, and Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360, the content arm of Management 360.
PS No women huh? Now that's a bit disappointing.. A romance (with boobs scenes and all, of course ) between a brave passenger and a captain's daughter would be nice
There's plenty of gay sex if ther is lack of females Anyway, there is one woman. There are 3 "sex" scenes in the book.
What I don't like is that the people don't look properly dressed. In the book they always kept 6-7 layers of clothing when outside which turned out to be not very effective. They kept losing skin, toes, fingers, feet even.
I also do not like Lady Silence. She was always eerie and confident in the book, never scared and beaten down like in that trailer.
For new drama series “The Terror,” the network will release all 10 episodes for AMC Premiere customers on Sunday, March 26, at 9 p.m. ET, the same time as the network TV premiere of episode 1. That’s a binge-viewing bonus patterned on Netflix’s standard release strategy, designed to drive up subscribers to the $4.99-per-month add-on.
start ep1 was decent, but low content , but i like it cause i recently watched the real story on youtube, funny to see ceaser and brutus together again though,. The chemistry isnt really there yet, the crew had very little attention and the backstory of the captains is kinda shit sofar. It needs a ton more character building, but watch the youtube, and ull enjoy it i think, but u will get a ton of spoilers as, well its based on this true story (its only 50 minutes, not 8 hours it repeats , dunno why)
all i can say is these dudes got royally fucked by mother nature and chemistry
