I guess it's pretty save to assume bamco will sneak in Denuvo again without warning like they started doing a while ago so i'm probably not buying it, will wait for the isodemo.
Pey is a reviewer and the NDA expires later today so perhaps he could just say if the game exe is 100+ MB or not and that would confirm it.
Technically the .\Steam\Userdata\"AppID"\ folder should also have a license file for the activation tied to the system HW but just the exe being 100+ MB is usually a clear indication of it being padded out.
EDIT: Unless that would affect anything with further previews and such of course, industry is allergic to negative reactions and feedback and any leaks that could lead to these.
We'll know in a few days anyway I suppose so it's not really that important, plus it's pretty much guaranteed to have it unless Bandai happened to just drop it for some reason, they do hold a license for using D. I believe.
(And sites like DSO taking any announcement and twisting them into some sensationalist article for clicks doesn't help either. "Reviewer leaks Ni No Kuni 2 sensitive info." or some such bla bla, also a pain in the ass hah.)
That's good, bit surprising but nice to hear since although it is possible that the press build will differ from retail it's usually also protected too in order to avoid any risks with leaking even if this has become better from how it was in earlier years.
That improves the odds of the game not having Denuvo at least.

But this time, it seems they actually having proof to backup their claim...

Bandai Namco has provided us with a review code and we can confirm that the review code does not use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Bandai Namco’s previous PC releases used that controversial anti-tamper tech and after what has happened with Final Fantasy XV, we cannot be 100% certain about the presence or not of Denuvo in the final game. Still, it would be disingenuous if Bandai Namco decides to stealthily use it in the final version (especially since the review code does not use it).

Joking aside, despite not being much of a challenge, the game is fun so far, and had one of the most interesting openings in a "light hearted JRPG" I've seen. You just kind of wish they had adjusted the difficulty a bit too take advantage of how enjoyable combat actually is.
