Looks crap. I wonder if they will continue their policy of payable patches.

I don't know that, there's barely any info about the game. It's not that hard to make the game work both ways, other games did it before. Also, it's not like the original was so amazing despite being singleplayer. It had some good ideas, but the execution wasn't all that great.
Damn, the graphics look terrible. Barely any better than SoD1 from 4 years better - if at all.
Also the performance in the non-cutscenes often seemed like crap too.

Microsoft has confirmed that State of Decay 2, the zombie-survival RPG from Undead Labs, will release onMay 22 for the Xbox One family of consoles as well as Windows PC as a Play Anywhere title. It will also be available that day on Xbox Game Pass. Furthermore, Microsoft also confirmed a price point of $29.99 for the standard edition and $49.99 for the Ultimate Edition.
On the subject of the lower-than-expected price, Microsoft GM of Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg said, “Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise. We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game.”

The aforementioned Ultimate Edition will include early access to State of Decay 2 on May 22 and a free Xbox One copy of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition as well as the Independence Pack and Daybreak Pack DLCs, which will be released at a TBD date.
i wonder if it's there abstract story like in first one. The narrative was so fucking trash i didn't know the difference between main and side quests. It all looked the same. They might as well create a sandbox game with zombies at this point. It would be more fitting.
There won't be any Steam version for at least the next months.
I would even say, Microsoft is stubborn enough to never release it on Steam to get more sales.

Yup, the interest is definitely there for me as well, but I'd rather get my pinky toe stomped by a boomer than have to deal with something from the $tore again. I'm confident(ish) that it will leave the Microswamp someday - it would be a damned foolish movie not to - although logic doesn't always apply in these cases. Anyway, it's time to forget that this game exists..until it will suddenly start existing.
