Finally played this. my god. magnificent. just incredible that such a tiny game can be so much. i've played 3 lives so far, I think day 5 or 6 furthest I got in story mode and always got the classic soviet ending most memorable line in the game so far: cobrastan is not a country.

I replay this gem about once a year. There's just something undeniably satisfying about stamping away someone's freedom when they're so close - you can't get that anywhere else! Finished story mode for the first time. took me little under 10 hours.

the ending I got:

I saw 4 different endings so far, the other 3 being early dead ends. Will definitely play more to see the alternate stuff at some point.

lol. so you didn't reach december 24th? that's what I mean by actual ending, but yeah, 3 of the 4 i got, were arrests or death before xmas.
