Pathfinding indeed is fucking shit. Played the first mission with my cavemen, and they often had troubles going around obstacles - like a very small spot of forest.

Ragequitted afterwards anyways, since i got gangbanged by two enemies at once and i had no food. Laughing

And the 2d models are of really low quality. Especially noticable if you are not playing in the highest zoomed out level - and even more if you zoom fully in.

How to change resolution? Not seeing it under settings. Sad Looks like crap at the moment.

The classic mode seems unplayable without zoom.

Run InstallApp.exe in the install folder.
If you still don't get it, like i did, restart your PC and then run the .exe again. Laughing

so i can't seem to start the game with a active internet connection.
the game is blocked in windows firewall, still everytime i start the game, i get a force close as soon as i see the menu.
when i deactivate my lan adapter the game starts just fine without any problems.

WHY????

First game, started on Regular with Egyptians, farmed up my resources as usual, started building a few units of all kinds (horses, archers, elephants) and then the AI simply raped me with about 10-15 Phalanx units who destroyed my complete city in just 2 minutes Laughing

I knew it was hard, but that was just mad.

Next training mission: gather 500 gold.
The gold is on the other side of the map. Before I got there the AI already mined it all Smile

Yet another one: immediately after starting you get attacked by 3 archers and a stone thrower. You get 1 wololo to convert the stone thrower. Wololo doesn't like being hit with a big rock.

I think the AI may be cheating Laughing

They AI definitely cheats, I set to have an ally on my first match, he had plenty of stone and gold to mine just right outside his place and after around 15 minutes, his villagers start to mine my deposit of it Laughing Assholes Mad

As for fairness well it's Age of Empires, I don't think the AI was ever all that fair but on the lower difficulty levels the AI was at least content with just being overall better than you at everything without being a dick about it. Very Happy

Games like Civilization where they outright state how fucked you are compared to the AI and it's god-like bonuses are pretty rare unfortunately, buffs and reactions and omnipotent all-knowing Skynet-level neural computing cheating bastard. Ha ha.


EDIT: There's also those games using AI boosts as a DRM but I don't remember Age of Empires doing it but this version could have that but the AI is probably just a cheating ass and this is staying true to the original experience.

128MB of what? size? not even close, it was about 50-60mb. the rest was the music tracks in wavs or directly cd audio. have forgotten about this, i think it was simple wavs
