i get it they had this season planned out
but no build up, at all, what so ever to ANYTHING.

also leader emperor... of course it's that person. why else would it be?
now she can't kill the emperor and take down the evil empire because emotions?
emperor should have been a rando... a young kirk or some shit.
a young piccard. some one else. Someone where they'll look it up on their own database see he's a nobody.
who says that a mirror universe has to be in the same timeline? like... there's no rules.

It's not Star Trek but set in Star Trek.
Don't watch it because oooo Star Trek.
It's decent for a sloppy sci fi show.
But the twists and shit are gaaay but with time invested... watch it till it gets cancelled. May not have season 2

The last ep was very good, a major character is making sense now. The problem with this show is the lack of build up to anything, everything is in a rush and we have time lapses. So most of the time shit just happens. The writing won't get better this season, I assume they already have a grand plan in place, so hopefully they'll improve the writing next season.

He always made sense though.
The twist didn't suddenly make his actions valid.
He was a captain with unorthodox ideas.
He's still a captain with unorthodox ideas.
Maybe motives are clearer now... but he always made sense.

I found the storyline in the last few episodes more interesting than the previous ones, but the writing is still meh at best, with a touch of cringe every now and then.
They are really failing to make me feel anything for the characters.
 Spoiler: | And they are not making it easier for themselves either. At this point we have, what, four characters that are actually starfleet in the whole show? (Michael, Tilly, calamari-head and the gaygineer (although he's now been replaced as well, so I could not have even counted him).
Everyone else is either dead or some kind of a traitor (the captain, the security guy, the mirror engineer, I sense a pattern here!). |

randomly saw one episode of Orville on TV and it was a court case about genders and strong females. They can shove that show so far up their asses that they won't be able to walk for the next decade. |
That episode took gender politics and threw them out a window. It was about what's good for their culture not all culture all together.
Orville is cheesy and fun. It's st:tos with a modern budget.
It explores its universe even though it's a rehash of a lot of Star Trek episodes... it still has a genuine feel to it.
Discovery is just set in a Star Trek universe. More of a mini series. Like. 22 episode story arch. Not nearly coverd in 4 episodes like Star Trek would do.

Very weak final episode. "Follow me as your leader or I blow up the planet" was ridiculous. They need to replace the entire writing team for a second season, they fucked up the show.

The whole boring-ass Klingon war storyline comes to a conclusion in the ultimate borefest final episode. I don't think they could have made it less exciting if they tried.

It was a cop out, like they had written themselves into a corner and quickly had to resolve it. Last 20mins everything went downhill. Too bad, because some earlier eps were really good.

I had the feeling they had to cut short the storyline. Maybe they planned on continuing this storyline in s2 and someone higher up said to cut the crap. If that is the case, someone should give that guy a medal.
