Alpha version 0.11 – The Coast is Clear
Quote:
BeamNG.drive’s first major urban environment!
The time has come to release our most ambitious map so far, together with plenty of improvements such as clutch thermals, horn and siren sounds, afterfire effects, and much more.
Additionally, you will now be able to browse and download new mods from BeamNG.drive itself, and easily keep them all updated with one click.

I quite enjoyed fooling around with this engine, but I'm still wondering where they want to go with this. I see talk of a game but I just don't see the direction of a game somewhere.

It really is entertaining and satisfying to tinker with the advanced physics and improvise reckless crash tests, shame that the concept never really took it to the next level for budget reasons, the racing genre would definitely need something like this. Razz

On the bright side, at least they didn't gimp the physics model like it happened with the poor Next Car Wreckfest Sad Laughing

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Its still far from perfect, but iv spending a lot of time with this game since the first alpha. The scenarios you can create, the different mods and all the vehicles created by the community are amazing. Less polygons on some of those vehicles so not as good destruction model... but still great stuff. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I still think they should change graphics engine. The game looks horrible... And the physics are stretchy and bouncy sometimes. I think it never looked as good as in those early cryengine tech demos.
There are still no particles, debris and windows barely break and stretch sometimes. There was hope for this 5 years ago... But not anymore

Still forever in alpha (of course Razz Laughing) but at least they overhauled the physics:
