I bought the Necromancer DLC for my son and I, mainly because Diablo 3 is a game we play together when he comes to mine, not for any other reason.

So far we are enjoying it, I would not agree that it is boring, although over time the whole game becomes boring and grindy, we usually drop the game for a weeks or months then come back to it for a while. Furthermore playing without Turbohud is a nightmare. Hope it gets updated soon.

No way is the DLC worth £13.00 but it is OK, if we did not play it together I certainly would not have bought it.

We love these type of games just to run about having fun and we have gone through them all. Titan quest,Van Helsing, Torchlight 1+2, Sacred 2,Victor Vran etc etc. If anyone can think of anymore that would be welcome.

Cheers.

Grim Dawn
Din's Curse + Din's Curse: Demon War DLC (Currently on sale on Steam)
Diablo 2: Median XL 2017 might be nice for a playthrough

Tried Grim dawn and D2 of course, not come across Median yet though. As long as we can play these games together.

Thank you.

Median xl to me is by far the funnest, don't be put off by the early game whacked balance and ensure to read the website Uber quest challenges as they have a Max level requirements and add completely new challenges to the game.

A solid weeks play will see you through a lot of content. I think what makes it so fun are the somewhat spikey gameplay / builds you get on your journey to hell difficulty.. you will have moments where you own everything effortlessly then 5-10 levels later be getting your ass handed to u or other challenges that will stump / challenge you.

Else path of exile, imo best experience is playing hardcore so you roll new builds and try different strategies while mastering the game.. my only complaint is it's much slower going than say D2, median or Torchlight.

Median you can absolutely dominate the game in two weeks of serious play, path of exile is months (online only gaming unfortunately caused this retarded grind is good mentality)..

Before someone whinges about HC: I don't read/spoil games with online guides and copying people's builds, playing softcore means focussing your entire build on DPS aka skipping 90% of the games mechanics and challenges as dying has no consequences, HC without cheese is a lot more fun.

Yeah. I liked D2 Necromancer, so I'd be tempted to try him in D3, but certainly not for 15$.

Hey everyone,

BlizzCon draws near, and we wanted to give you an update about Diablo’s presence at the show. Last year at BlizzCon, we kicked off Diablo’s 20th anniversary by announcing the old-school cathedral dungeon (if you missed that the first time around, it’s coming back in January) and unveiling Rise of the Necromancer. This year, we want to give you a heads-up that while Diablo will be on the show floor, we won’t be making any new Diablo announcements. There will be a time for that at some point in the future, but that time is not now.

However, in addition to the special BlizzCon Diablo III in-game reward, we’ll also have Diablo panels for attendees and Virtual Ticket holders, and, as always, we look forward to a weekend filled with fun and revelry with the heroes who call Sanctuary home.

Patch 2.6.1 is on the horizon. Looking beyond that, we’re hard at work on the future of Diablo and exploring what’s next for the franchise. Please be patient. Our passion for Sanctuary burns as bright as the High Heavens and as hot as the Burning Hells—and we’re excited to hunker down and get working!

Until next time,
The Diablo Development Team

I realise that this will go down about as well as a homophobe on a rotten assed leper, but I enjoy playing D3 as a way to reach that point between concentration and semi-spamming where you can just zone out. Sure the addon was a bit of a rip especially when blizzard chose to ignore quite a number of build breaking bugs and concentrate on 'new improved' builds rather than repairing fuck ups that make constructing great wizards or barbs somewhat fraught but the necromancer add on has made an opportunity for a big mob of new builds to allow getting past torment 100 do able for incompetent old bastards like me.
Yeah I know these will get nerfed when too many of us un-maestros of the keyboard get into them but in the meantime there is fun to be had, fun which can provide insight into leeching style play when building characters in other rpgs so necro isn't all bad.

I'm just too conservative in my gaming I reckon since I rate having fun above interminable fretting over the finer points of graphics stuff when playing a game.
The only thing about graphics I am certain of is whenever I buy a new card it will be either immediately superseded and/or those who had been spruiking its marvels will suddenly decry hitherto barely discussed flaws.

Anyway for those who enjoy a Friday evening locked in their study away from kid chatter; hooking up with old buddies in a similar state of mild alcohol & hash intoxication, D3 is a diversion most old mates own, plus it is playable even on the most god awful old lappy, which someone in the old mob has been stuck with ever since a family meeting determined that an offspring had a far more pressing need -even if it is really just the kid wants to play this year's resource hogging goty and not that he/she spends every waking hour wrestling with matlab or whatever.

Season 12 starts in a couple of hours men. I'm in again as a Barbarian this time, hoping to have some fun with the buffed spin2win build.

Patch 2.6.1 went live last week, together with the biggest balancing fixes since... forever? Improvements for all classes across the board, all sets are now almost equally viable for high-GRs, not just one or two builds per class that dominate the end-game.

Otherwise nothing really new, no new content or anything.

I hope the story of pumpy and paxie's quest will be continued here.

I think I like the fact that the blood shards can only be used for gambling. Now I have a good reason to actually do so. Very Happy

You should save the shards until level 70.
They're a good boost for set pieces then. (you'll quite likely get at least few pieces with 500 shards)

This.

Although this is a VERY stupid mechanic - especially for new players or players that don't just copy/paste the "cookie cutter" build of the season.

Yeah.. it's not exactly fun to create a lvl 8 monk specifically meant to gamble rivera dancers or the crudest boots just to put them in the cube. Or lvl 10 for gungdo gear, if memory serves. But I get it, RNG can be finnicky and if you go long enough without those build enabling legendaries, you do what you gotta do Laughing

Well, tbh, diablo should work fine on tablet -> one corner has joystic for movement and otherside bunch of buttons for all the available skills. You need like 7 buttons there. I think that's doable. And the aiming would be just some fixed distance crap or something (ie. for aoes).

They probably would have to rethink a bit some spells, but I don't see why it would not work.

Is there any point in exploring rifts deeper after killing the guardian?

Do you kill normal mobs in rifts? It seems their worthless IF you want to go fast. You'd miss out on some crafting materials though.

In a short period of time I gained 2 useful legendary items (Gavel of Judgment, Aquila Cuirass). One increases a skills dmg by ~650% and causes a primary resource gain (under conditions that seem to apply at all times). The other item reduces damage by 50% if my primary resource is at 90%+ or something, so also all the time. I jumped from T1 to T4 with this. I guess this is also normal?
Currently trying to figure out my optimal difficulty setting for rifts and Grifts with respect to real time needed for loot Smile
