Their interest in having any balance at non-70 has come and gone. Abilities are balanced only with 70 content, greater rifts and torment difficulties, in mind. Because honestly, that's what the playerbase plays 99% of the time. The leveling part is just temporary. That can lead to abilities that either feel like they do nothing, or are completely overpowered. When sets and builds come into play, it'll make more sense. Though some skills will never be used regardless, of course.
Ok. Sounds kinda counter-intuitive, but that means we should just keep playing and hope with will become better/interesting. We will take your words for it.
We started with some "tactics" discussion, you know like:
"Oh, I'm good at crowd control, I got this slow time ability and can freeze big guys in place, you go in and pummel them while they're slowed down, I stay far away, because I got this other ability anyway which gives me 30% more dmg when further than 30yards away..."
...and bullshit talk like this.... only 5 mins later we realized, none of that is necessary, instead we went more like this:
I uploaded some snippets:
"There will be no end to the troubles of humanity, until philosophers become kings, or kings become philosophers.", Plato.
"Hyperbole will destroy us all.", Matt Dillahunty.
"The hyperbole, the demonization of the other opinion and the unwillingness to even read the opposing opinion destroys the so important political discussions necessary for the well functioning of society.", Couleur
Heheh, my German isn't what it used to be, but I got the jist of it. I do think it's a shame they don't let first-time characters go on higher difficulties than expert. If you can handle it, why shouldn't they let you. You can always scale it back down if it becomes too much to handle. It's what I like about the game.. I could keep pushing the difficulty to the point where I get one-shot by everything unless I stack my 3 different 50% damage mitigation abilities at all time, requiring awareness of the ability timers, positioning and enemy abilities. Breezing through is only entertaining for so long, especially if there's a clear cut way to play, so I understand where you're coming from. And yes, disintegrate is how I level my wizards, especially with the volatility rune. If you have enough arcane power regeneration from passives, you don't even really need the builder, as you already pointed out.
Exactly Also his wizard seems to make so much more damage compared to me But in PVP he doesn't stand a chance because of my one shot kill skills and invicibility
Invincibility should be a forbidden skill !!! WTAF

Finally extracted some power from a unique item. So far I found no effect that seemed worth it. But with the furnace and its +50% dmg against elites I found something worth while. With that I also cleared my first Greater Rift (level 10 to match my difficulty)

A lot of uniques have insane powers.
Furnace's power used to be the best for a long time (it used to be best weapon for a long time)
In general, look for buffs to certain skills and then try to find other items to buff that skill further. Once you start getting the set items, they'll dictate a bit which skills you should use.(Though some sets are more lenient on skills)
I do notice the furnace's power, obviously so thats something.
Haven't gotten to these insane powers yet, I think. I now have almost a stash tab full of shitty unique items.

To me this is the good thing of having no fixed build. I can actually use the crap I find and almost optimize my build. Though I understand the appeal of a fixed build for others.
