I've played it for a few hours and i don't know what to say. It's just bad compared to stick of truth so far. Instagram and selfieshit, combat sucks, strangely unfunny often and the setting just doesn't grip me.
I played until the fight at the strip club, got tired of those cunts kicking my characters into the obese one's AOE attack, and quit after.
Yeah, that fight was terrible, especially since the strippers knock you back all the time, and once the timer reaches 0 the fat one moves and cancels your turn. But that was by far the hardest fight until now, and I am on day 3 now. I think that fight will receive a patch soon, maybe her not canceling your turn, maybe her time-to-next move being increased.
Uplay rewards unlocker and minor updates on our emulator.
1.Unpack and copy the content of:
- CODEPUNKS dir to installdir
- REWARDS dir to your savesdir %SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Documents\uPlay\CODEPUNKS\Saves\SouthParkTFBW
It will add the rewards save to your 10th slot so if you already have one, backup yours first.
How does it work: load the save, once you got your smartphone app you can select the Uplaycostumes.

Wow what a service, those guys really rock.
Well you do have to start a new game though fortunately i had only 10 min to play yesterday
The combat is piss easy, i find it even less interesting than SoT.... There are no normal attacks, no stances where you need to do something else, no melee/ranged.... what you get is 3 powers and thats it, the fact you can move around doesn't really add much to combat. Its even lighter than before.
Other thing is that the whole story (up till now) is really rather boring. Doesn't help that there are endless fetch quests, i'm kinda waiting on something big to happen, but i seriously doubt anything will come close to the parent sex scene or the unplanned parenthood one in the first.
Too bad they ditched Obsedian and made everything a little worse, its not bad since its Southpark, but its worse.

I just used the Dash/Knockback power of Cpt. Diabeties and it was really easy, since once you reach the hoe (i can't remember her name) it all stops, so there's no point in fighting the hoes.
You have a couple of fights where you have to do something specific, not just bash everyone's face in.
Beyond the default difficulty slider there should also be a combat one, guessing it mostly just makes enemies more resilient though.
(There's also apparently an achievement for playing through the game on the hardest combat difficulty level as a black character though it needs to be set before the first combat encounter during the tutorial part to count.)
I'm enjoying it, but have only played until the start of the first night (is that day 2 or still day 1?)
It's certainly not as memorable as the first game, but otherwise still enjoyable. The amount of stuff to collect is too much, I agree. And it's clear I'm not able to collect everything yet, so there's certainly going to be some backtracking (read: go through the entire map again) if I want to collect everything.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
Yea don't think I'll finish this. The gameplay just isn't fun. I love the show so the "cutscenes" are what I want to get to, I want to "watch" the rest of the game, but the things you need to do to get it to them...
1. Combat is just bad. I don't understand why anyone thinks this is better than the first one. The first one was Paper Mario, it simply works. It was quick, it was satisflying because you don't need to setup enemies, you can just aoe them down and get on with the game. This I need to line up myself and enemies up, for what? Just so I can hit someone? Why? It's not like this is all tactical and smart, since you can't even flank people? You can't swap places with allies easily. Most moves have such specific ranges that you end up having allies not being able to hit anyone.
The combat just takes too much input, time and "thought" for not at all satisfying results.
2. Exploration fucking sucks in this one. Last one you have meaningful exploration because you can find shit that matters. Here, all I've looted are cosmetics, and low effort references to show, all shredded down into generic crafting materials.
In Stick of Truth, you have actual equipment to worry about, so you have actual items to loot. I can find upgrades, side-grades while going through everyone's shit. Here, its just a fucking choir going through all of boxes to hopefully find an artifact.
So the 2 big part of the game just sucks, I can't stay interested and be bothered to play this through. This is like SWTOR all over again. Only maybe the story is better in this one, but I'm just going to watch someone else play it.
Finished it and i have to say i found it boring as fuck towards the end. It did pick up a bit around the 3/4 mark with some classic SP craziness, but the last part was way too drawn out and tedious. The story sucked major balls and the big reveal wasn't even a big reveal. Not one scene comes close to stuff from the first one.
I'm truly shocked how they managed to make the light hearted and easy combat from the first worse, making it a complete walkover but dragging it out for no reason whatsoever. The only "challenging" battles are ones where you have to do something more specific (like the catch the hoe at the stripclub) but these are more a pain in the ass than a challenge. Makes everything even more tedious. At least in the first one you got ridiculously OP and could breeze through combat to enjoy the lunacy of the story, here you have easy combat that takes longer, only to find a seriously lackluster story. There are way less laughs in this one than the previous one, because nothing much interesting happens most of the time.
I hate the repetition of some stuff, you go to some sidequest and at the end you are attacked by certain enemies, ok fine, but when you go to the same quest giver second/third time and you get attacked by the same enemies saying the exact same shit it gets a bit old. Kinda the theme of the game to be honest, hammer a joke so long that you start rolling your eyes at it, instead of laughing.
I also hate the QTE's in the game, they are just pointless. For every dumb shit you need to press some dumb keys for no reason whatsoever. Smash F to fart, go take a shit...do QTE's (seriously the most boring QTE game ever and completely pointless). Use a buddy power, do QTE's for no reason etc.
Tbh i wouldn't mind the combat if the story was really solid, but currently its a very lackluster SP episode with boring combat and tedious fetch quests. It shows they ditched Obsidian... everything is worse.
In a taco restaurant accessed very early on in the game, I knew you could attack him but I did not know he would burrito up and go all out Nagasaki on the entire party as soon as combat began dealing almost 300 damage flat and ending my character before the fight had even begun.
Or whatever that super fart of Stick of Truth was called, Morgan must have the ass of god or something to be able to deliver that kind of damage. Ha ha.
Don't think spoiler tag is necessary, he isn't part of the official bosses, just a NPC you learn a skill from pretty early on. You can however hit him and trigger a hidden boss battle with him, and he's hella strong. At least that early on. There is an achievement and loading screen texts for beating him though, so you get enough hints that you can fight him.
I think I'm nearing the end though, unlocked my 4th class selection. Maybe I should give him a try again.
Beat him, not hard when you finish the game, just takes a long time. I used the Plant superpower to constantly heal my guys and spammed all the negative status effects i could.
The superhero theme just doesn't do it for me and the references have gotten old by now. "Oh yay, it's Morgan Freeman/"Aaaand it's gone" guy/crab people again, and them just being there is the whole joke!"
The game also felt kinda empty and lifeless. It had this "rushed sequel" feeling even with all the delays. I skipped the "collect 10 of X" side quests and as a result I was left with maybe 2 or 3 side stories with any substance.
The combat is still just... there, even on Mastermind. The changes have done nothing to make it more engaging and it becomes a chore later in the game.
Honestly, I think I'm just over this "reference-a-thon with mildly entertaining gameplay" formula. I'd rather just watch an episode of the actual show.
