Gotta say, some of the more unique orc faces are really gruesomely cool. That's some Dark Knight Two-Face shit going on there, but with acid instead of burns.

HOOOLY SHIT I WANT TO SHOOT THE GUY THAT THOUGHT ACT 4 WAS A GOOD IDEA.

Save yourselves the time and youtube the real ending, cause act 4 is 20!!! sieges in a row!!!!! I spent the better part of the last 8 hours doing them.

Wasn't sure if you were serious about the number of sieges in the end, but holy shit indeed. Evil or Very Mad
Sadistic bastards whoever thought of that idea...well thankfully it's over now after 45 hours and I can start Evil within 2 or Elex. Smile

The necrotic undead orcs that tend to come back (And might have done so for a very long time already going by some of their dialogue.) can be really unique, anything from glowing eyes to maggot wounds, burns, missing features such as eyes or limbs often replaced by metal grafts and much more.

There's also twin-heads, orcs that speak in verse, orcs that only say one word ("CRUSH!") and a ton of other possibilities, no idea what the orcs are doing on their spare time but there's a lot of blood bro's too so some fights can become pretty busy when that one orc has his three friends show up. Very Happy

I have one orc in particular that look like melted cheese or something, will see about getting some screenshot of him.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-10-17-endless-shadow-wars-confirmed-for-shadow-of-war
Quote:
Developer Monolith has confirmed infinite Shadow Wars will arrive with Shadow of War's first DLC - the Slaughter Tribe.

The news was confirmed during a Monoloith Shadow of War live stream.

Though the Slaughter Tribe DLC costs money, the endless Shadow Wars will come as a free update alongside it.

Shadow Wars are the end game for Shadow of War. Once the game is finished, each of your fortresses comes under attack one at a time from Orc tribes. Players attempt to hold control points to stop the base falling into enemy hands while taking out waves of rival captains or warchiefs.

If you successfully hold the fortress then the Shadow Wars advance and you must defend the next one, however, if you fail, you must work to retake your base.

Infinite Shadow Wars is something fans have been requesting for some time (there was even a petition for the feature). Adding infinite Shadow Wars should give the title additional replay value as previously there was a cut off for the number of Shadow Wars players could take part in.

A repeat of act 4 then? Well it's something for people grinding high-level captains reliably I suppose and particularly higher rarity ones since even post-game legendary captains are not very common though there are tons of level 65 regular ones though, which is a pain because you have to mind-break ahegeo them down to under level 60 first since that's what Talion caps at and you can't take orcs above your level, Talion must be on the bottom for unspecified reasons ha ha.

EDIT: Even the uncommon and rare captains aren't too common even after finishing the games story mode though act 4 fortress endurance rush mode sees these participate all the time, legendary ones generally only join towards the end as a single higher level captain.
(Though you can't capture these once they hit above lv.60 so get those you can and "convert" the rest to legendary loot drops.)

Guessing Shadow Wars will be about the same.

Just spent another hour with this game, pls someone tell me it gets harder towards the end. I am literally just exploiting the mechanics killing one captain after the other, collecting all the stuff on the map, usually riding around on my Graug.

Vault-freezestun-hackhackhack-done.

I was excited when I had to face all the Nazgul, but hey...one-trick-pony did it again.

If I had smth else to play at the moment, I'd stop grinding around in this one at once.

10 days til AC:O.

I have all skills unlocked and close to finishing Act2. I just don't see anything except boss-fights that could challenge me...and that's mainly because I HATE those QTEs...

If Act4 is really just grinding and sieging...then I will call it quits after Act3.

Are the Overlords the same for everyone? Or do they have randomized traits and weaknesses?

Yesterday i wanted to do the fight against the one in Gorgonath.
That motherfucker is a tank class with a shield and basically was immune to everything: ranged weapons, poison, beasts, can heal himself to full health again when needed.

My only way of damaging him was to jump across him and hit him from behind with melee. But ofc he adapted to it after a few times.

He was weak to being flammable, but he never caught fire with my melee weapon or the Elven Light skill with fire damage equipped. Fucking shit. Embarassed

My summon Graug did no damage him. Same as none of my ranged attacks that have elements to them.
And even if he was said to get damaged by executions, he barely took any damage each time.

Also fuck that retarded infinite spawn of minions.

My way of dealing with problematic overlords is checking their weakness and assigning a suitable captain as my bodyguard to exploit that weakness. Their combat-counters don't seem to apply to other orcs as well as they do to you. I defeated many a Legendary overlord in online sieges with this summoning button.

According to SteamSpy, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War sold ~ 400.000 copies on Steam in one week, after the good results on the UK market, even on PC the sequel of Shadow of Mordor is getting some pretty good sales.
The Microtransaction buzz didn't affect the sales of the game after all.

Marketing works I guess, that's stating the obvious though.
(Bethesda could learn some things in that regard.)

Well, it's a good game. Much better, harder and interesting than the first one (even with the annoying choice of the devs to make the game more humorous). And selling more than Shadow of Mordor seems fair to me. I am still at about 70% of the game tho. Have to see if the game really needs lootboxes to complete or not.

And finished it too. Skipped Act 4 though and just watched the True Ending on Youtube. Couldn't be bonered with that grind and the ending wasn't all that special anyways to warrant it.

Still, overall a nice game and a big improvement over the first one.

7/10

You can only control captains of equal or lower level. Use Shame to reduce their level and you can retry again later.

If you use a Wealth gem in your ring's gem slot, you will grant them extra levels on dominating, up to your level. Useful if you reduce their level more than you'd like.

yeah so ive discovered. seems total bullshit though, an artificial slowdown for the game. seems if i can defeat them, i should be able to dominate them (narratively speaking)

Heh, you think that's bad, wait until you go to the trouble of beating and shaming a guy twice to bring his level down, finally dominate him, only to have him turn up during a fight with another captain to inform you that he has broken free of your control.

Edit: Oh, and watch out for the Blood Brothers trait. If you have dominated a Captain who is Blood Brothers with an enemy captain that you then kill, your dominated Captain will turn against you.

And for the final equipment upgrade you need level 55+ orcs but orcs level up to 65 with the player capping at 60 so end-game you have to shame or worse-than-death every high-level captain you come across and then hope they land between 55 - 59 so you can dominate them then and get the final upgrade tier.

However killing a level 65 legendary has a chance of giving you a level 61 - 63 weapon which would have slightly better stats than upgrading them though you'd get whatever the captain has done with said weapon too. (So more RNG if you want a good combo.)

And yeah armor and weapons both change appearance when upgraded, bright lord set looks pretty poor initially but the 40+ version starts actually looking good.

Might be worth it to just leave the tombs until you are level 55+ so you can just pick up the leveled version immediately and skip upgrading them but there's other sets that might be better, I do like how that vengeance one looks in particular.
(But it's random whether you get a piece or not from participating in killing the GitGud orcs other players couldn't.)

Making orcs deranged just feels so wrong. I met a higher level orc (he was a Ghul breeder and confronted me after I killed a brood mother), and he had some decent looking attire, so I shamed him to lower his level...except it made him deranged. From then on he only made baby noises, and it became all kinds of WRONG. Fighting him felt wrong. Killing him felt wrong. Shaming him further felt wrong. In the end I put him out of his misery, but damn, that was just...wrong.

Kinda same for another orc. Higher level than me, so I shamed him. His previous title became "the Shamed". Fine, seen it before. But unlinke the couple others I shamed, this one was not really trying to take revenge on me, he was just wallowing in misery, because all the other orcs made fun of him. I said fine, I let him kill me to get some reputation back. He was still called Shamed, and when confronting him at the resulting feast he was still miserable because now that I came back from the dead, noone will believe that he killed me. To ease my conscience I had to recruit him to my ranks, there's no discrimination in brain-washed armies. Razz

Once after I shamed one higher leveled orc and he became "The Ruined". All he was saying after that was "I suffer!", "Suffering!", "Suffer! Suffer!" and had mortally killed by arrows, fire and beasts. Poor guy died but kept resurrecting back after some time He became immortal just to die with one shot. Somehow I managed to dominate him and now I have Sauron MK 2 in my army who dies in 5 seconds but comes back at random events to help me Rolling Eyes

In another try to totally shame a captain from level 40 to a worm status ('worse than death'-ed him couple of times) after level 8 he turned "The Maniac" with level 50 instead. I killed him because I was scared he would chase down my captains and kill them somehow. Maybe I had to let him go to see what would really happen. Sad

Oh and if a much lower level than you kills you he has a chance to become legendary. This new nemesis system is so cool and interesting I spent the last 10 hours fiddling with it and doing pit fights. Hope they can expand it even further in some future game.

What about Pokeorc or Orcmon Kombat? Laughing
