I am about to buy a webcam in a couple of days to communicate with overseas. I do not know anything about a webcam but I would like to see and send good quality video and sound. What sort of feature should be looked at when buying a webcam? What is a good webcam on the market?

Well, if your in North America, go to like www.bestbuy.com or CompUsa or other major computer vendor sites and compare. I dont know much about webcams myself, never had one...but I'd think the more megapixels (like a dig cam?) would make the image clear and various such features.
If your doing a webcam chat sorta thing, i believe the quality of the streaming video, as in the running quality, also has to do with your connection. having a cable/dsl line would be better than 56k, as an example.
Then again, I could be completely wrong

for best quality (at a price though) get the Watchport/V , most do video @ 640x480 at 15fps just a case of what can handle colors and low light better , the higher end logitech and creative models are probably the pic of the bunch, but there all pretty mediocre at best
