Marvel’s Inhumans director Roel Reine has addressed the mixed reception to the debut trailer of the show, stating how he wasn’t a fan of the reel either.
Journos saw the pilot and say it is a disaster. One of the many tweets:

I said this to Jeph Loeb, who said he wished he had been there when I did the poll because he could have explained it. No idea about Fringe, but everything, including that NASA room, is *ridiculously* low budget/scale/scope/amateurish in this.
You can see the exact same beach used in LOST by the same network 13 years earlier, but here the shots look like they come from a straight to video flick instead of how incredibly filmic and unlike then-TV everything was in LOST's debut.
Then we move to the city of Honolulu where it was dressed in LOST as California, New York, UK, Australia or whatever they wanted to depict every time they were doing off-island flashbacks (and what not), while here the city looks un-filmic and b-rate. Which I guess is how Honolulu really is, but just goes to show how much of a better job others did to make the city look more filmic and even be able to stand in for big American cities etc.

I know who these dudes are. I don't know why they are with him. It makes absolutely no sense how they decided to risk their lives for him because they sympathized with him after he told them bad dudes are after him.
If he had first risked his life for them or something, sure. But as the situation played out that's just incredibly amateurish plotting.
