ReShade for SMAA, SpecialK for hiding the UI by "toggling" the vertex shader responsible for it.
(And then wall-hugging like a champ and hoping clipping isn't too much of a issue, ha ha.)

Models and textures are a bit so-so, tons of post-processing and other shaders though in addition to tech like TXAA, SSR, HBAO, PCSS (And HFTS.) so framerate is going to take a hit if you enable everything, looks pretty neat though if perhaps a bit shiny and said specular shine is causing some aliasing issues unless you're downsampling at which point you'll want a really nice GPU heh.

Some Cyperpunksauce with Observer, I strongly suggest to use a higher FOV and remove the CA as well in this case, both distracting.

The generic UE4 fixes do work, so head to: C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Local\TheObserver\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

In the Engine.ini, add:
Quote:
[/script/engine.localplayer]

AspectRatioAxisConstraint=your desired value (75 looks like the right spot, since it's a stronger type of fov)

As for the aberration, in the Scalability.ini file add:
Quote:
[PostProcessQuality@3]
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0

et voilà Very Happy Screens pls

It's better but you need a bit of creativity to push yourself forward to explore yet another part of the RNG-verse on a endless journey for more craft material and money.

The scope is fantastic in terms of sheer size but since everything is RNG there's little truly unique content and it feels a bit "samey" doing basic fetch tasks and finding another planet of random components and oddly put together life forms.

I think there's a overall goal and some sort of plot later on beyond initial survival woes and some quirky aliens speaking in monotone droning handing out basic tasks for you to do but yeah it needs some imagination and for the player to actually get immersed into the whole thing which is difficult with how it's all just a bunch of parameters in a file and then RNG just haphazardly throws everything together.

This is going in circles now almost but I hope that explains things somewhat, there is more to the game as of the 1.3 update and it also fixes several issues and shortcomings the game originally had but it's still heavily reliant on being a near endless survival sim with not much happening and once you've seen a few planets the excitement sorta fades a bit though it's quite something being able to near seamlessly fly through the entire universe and occasionally the RNG system manages to produce some interesting results for planets and creatures.

Even on the normal mode there's also a heavy reliance on grinding for components since the basic ship won't really do for lengthy exploration and the inventory is severely limited so there's a big focus on mining up all these little materials and crafting everything from equipment to modules giving minor boosts and even smaller stations which ultimately provides more blueprints and tech for crafting yet more stuff or generating the money required for buying things from the orbital stations and survey posts dotted around the planet surface.
(Which I think was introduced in a earlier patch.)

At a decent discount or better yet for a trial run the iso demo method could serve as a test to see what you think of the game personally, also some of the graphical effects are surprisingly heavy for a game with these visuals and the streaming system will see some noticeable fade-in and pop-up of geometry and textures though even so there's periodic stuttering due to the game trying to seamlessly allow the player to traverse from the surface of any planet in the game and into orbit and then into stations or down on other nearby planets or even more distant galaxies eventually.
(Possibly ending once you reach the galactic core I think.)

Me? I kinda need a overarching goal or focus to remain invested for a longer period of time especially for a game like this although more creative players can probably have a lot of fun and the next major update might bring in some more online functionality which a lot of fans are looking forward too after reading up some more on it. Smile

For shorter periods of time though exploring a bit here and there and perhaps taking it slow and relaxed or snapping some screenshots such as in this case well it works pretty well so far.

Yeah I'm backing away from the station in that image, should have considered the trail effect before doing that and taking the shot since it looks a bit silly cutting into the ship like that.

EDIT: Mods probably exist to disable the thing entirely, there's a variety of them trying to tone down some of the more fancy and strange shaders both in space and on planetary surfaces but I decided to start with only a small amount and gradually expand it from there, patch compatibility is going to be a pain whenever they release even smaller updates so a large mod library is more troublesome to maintain.

EDIT: Though trails like that can be pretty fancy depending on the game and intended art style too.

That's just something I saw a few days ago via Neogaf though, don't really know much about the intended game at all or even planned platforms but I'm digging the visual style they went for.

Clearing out the backlog a little bit, game might never see it's original conclusion though what with being put on hold and all due to executive meddling but eh, who knows if Square won't feel like resuming the franchise at some point in the future although it might be another reboot or who knows, JRPG? Razz

I remember the bloom effect, spent some time using the in-game console to see if some command couldn't perhaps reduce the strength a bit but I don't think I found anything.

Starbreeze had it pretty rough during those earlier years I believe, Enclave, Knights of the Temple and The Darkness weren't among the big sellers but had some popularity though Riddick is generally considered a pretty good game and Payday in particular gave the studio a bit of a breakthrough finally.
(Wonder how much EA interfered with Syndicate and it's direction actually.)

So, high school JRPG/VN game with some ("some") fan service and a pretty light plot about well it isn't really quite clear yet, magical girl drama and yuri drama and some comedy ha ha.

Special K was used to hide the UI elements when possible, also removed the character outline for the latter screenshots and for one of them I swapped hiding the UI for just hiding a shader responsible for the eye which caused that white empty eyeball image, thought it looked neat.
(I mean the expressions on some of the characters and the writing sometimes makes you wonder if this is lighthearted or if you stumbled into some new version of Yandere simulator. Very Happy )

Ys 1+2 Chronicles Plus (And Complete.)

 Spoiler:

Released by XSeed for PC in 2013 originally, a compilation of Ys 1 and Ys 2 with the enhancements of the earlier PSP edition which in turn is a remake of a earlier edition of the game which in it's turn is a update of the original release in 1987 for Ys 1 and 1988 for Ys 2 if I managed to not garble it completely. Very Happy

Origins updated the game and added some enhancements and then Chronicles updated it again so at start the player can select which of the two "styles" they want to use for these games with Origins offering something closer to early 1990's JRPG's and Chronicles something akin to something from the early 2000's in terms of art style and design.

Mainly affects the 2d character portraits seen during more important scenes and conversations with main characters and little else.

Far as difficulty goes this is a older game so there's little to no hand holding and the difficulty is probably the highest of the entire Ys series with a very different combat concept of basically ramming the enemy at a angle to do damage while avoiding damage, not as easy as it sounds and even with better gear and at a higher level Adol is very frail and the bosses are even tougher bordering on unfair and even cheap on occasion.

Ys 2 which is what the above images are from since even at a older age it turns out the first game can still be blasted through in a few short hours well they add another layer to the game via magic spells ranging from fire for attack to turning into a Roo which allows conversations with every monster encounter in the game also expanding on the very light dialogue from the first Ys.
(You can learn a lot, plus there's some obscure easter eggs if you do really weird things such as fireball NPC or push escort mission characters into narrow spaces to "measure" them.)

Not a bad game though, definitively nowhere near as quick with reactions as I was as a teenager though so some of the late game bosses especially in Ys 2 were a pain to fight though somehow I got through it ha ha.

EDIT: Oh and the monster dialogue appears to reflect the players behavior, if you attack everything expect them to refer to Adol as something of a red headed psychopath and have conversations involving how their friends and family were butchered and if you instead run away you can see conversations on Adol being cowardly or sneaking around or how they haven't seen him (you) in some time.

AND A TON OF INNUENDO OF COURSE.
(Not like the villagers are all that subtle either.)

Warframe is holding up nicely from whatever work they've put into Cry-Engine over the years, heard the community is still active too and the developers are adding new content regularly, not bad. Smile

Starcraft 2
Apparently we're killing gods now because Blizzard and their weird ass lore twisting this franchise in all sorts of ways, oh well. Razz

 Spoiler:

Engine is getting a bit old, poor multi-threading and x64 and DX11 support are relatively recent additions so the actual game scenes get a bit stutter prone with a lot of action going on whereas the higher-quality cinematic scenes mostly run fine as things are less active.

Visually it's held up pretty OK for a RTS game though it does look a bit low-poly and the older shading model makes things look a bit flat and plastic but eh, it works though the screens do mostly focus on the higher-poly cutscene models and events.

EDIT:
Middle Earth - Shadow of War

 Spoiler:

The game has a free camera feature you can use with quite a extensive feature set, whatever little faffer set the movement to mouse drag/drop functionality though well that's just no good at all ha ha.

Looks pretty good though downsampling would remove some of the roughness and offset the temporal AA method the game is using, without the ultra textures the game seems to be keeping to under 6 GB RAM usage and 4 GB VRAM usage, with it enabled though RAM usage exceeds 10 GB and 8 GB of VRAM according to the in-game statistics screen for these values so be prepared for some stuttering if you don't have at least 16 GB RAM and 8 GB VRAM hardware. Smile

EDIT: And while at it here's Gollum naked and a pissing orc I ran across.
