The villain in all 5 films is going to be the same;
http://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/james-cameron-reveals-avatar-villain-details/
Quote: | "The interesting conceit of the Avatar sequels is it’s pretty much the same characters," he says. "There are new characters and a lot of new settings and creatures, so I’m taking characters you know and putting them in unfamiliar places and moving them on this greater journey. But it’s not a whole bunch of new characters every time. There’s not a new villain every time, which is interesting. Same guy. Same motherfucker through all four movies. He is so good and he just gets better. I know Stephen Lang is gonna knock this out of the park." |
He certainly was the most memorable character of the first film.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

Colonel Quaritch is the true hero of Avatar. Jake is a traitor to his people.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

You don't understand how you can make four movies out of a world where anything is possible?
There's so little set in stone, you can tell whatever story you want to tell.
Humans come back? One film.
Na'vi civil war? Another film.
Some other aliens attack? Another film.
The planet is flooded? Another.
The planet will explode? Another.
etc.
Literally the only thing set it stone is it takes place in an entirely different ecosystem than ours and has to star the blue cat people. Limitless possibilities beyond that.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

That was my feeling.. I thought he died in the first movie so.. WTF?!?!?
Anyway, Avatar 2 could revolutionize film watching if Cameron can do the unthinkable: watch 3D WITHOUT GLASSES in the theater!!!

That the actor would be returning is really old news. From 2013: http://deadline.com/2013/10/james-cameron-has-found-avatars-darth-vader-its-stephen-lang-617426/
Quote: | “Steven was so memorable in the first film, we’re privileged to have him back,” Cameron said. “I’m not going to say exactly how we’re bringing him back, but it’s a science fiction story, after all. His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who’s also become a good friend.” |
The only new part is that he is going to be the main villain of the entire saga from the looks of it.

"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

Avatar 2?
I am worried.
Can they make better than part 1?
If not then excitement will go away from us.

Part1 was.. good? It was.. passable "Pocahontas in Space" fluff/trifle.
Only 3D in the theater was the "good" part.

Avatar was one of the rare movies that really worked in 3D. Well, it was made for 3D. But I remember being amazed at the effect in the cinema.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It was designed for the roll out of 3d tech.
I'm wondering what the new gimmick will be.
Hoping for glassless 3d. Holographic movies. Oooooooo

It honestly doesn't look that much better than Horizon Forbidden West in some scenes, when you see a character move and camera is set from behind them it looks like someone playing a modern game.
I actually saw a screen from this some time ago and i had no idea if they were talking about the upcoming game or the movie. Movies needs to step it up a notch.. not much has changed since the last movie, and it's been 13 fucking years(!)

More than happy to let Cameron fuck my eyeballs for another three hours.
Rather this than any Marvel crap.
